While not the easiest encounter for Keil, he may have recurring nightmares and fits of paranoia, it is a relief that Grey's hex worked! Also, for some reason I can't preview any of my posts...

On the bright side it was not a 1. And with instant death encounters becoming very real I doubt the extra 4 will make a difference :P Oh, and I agree with Komm, having that worm follow us around would not help Keil's PTSD

Yeah the size makes it an awkward creature in here. I didn't think it would keep its burrow speed but the GM has a point you could have it burrow but then have no way to talk to it :( oh well. I'm sure we can find you another cool creature :)

Have a question to finish leveling. I was thinking about getting a pet myself from Nature Mystery:

Bonded Mount (Su): You gain the service of an unusually intelligent, strong, and loyal mount. The creature must be one that you are capable of riding and is suitable as a mount. A Medium oracle can select a camel or a horse. A Small oracle can select a pony or wolf, but can also select a boar or a dog if she is at least 4th level. This mount functions as a druid’s animal companion, using your oracle level as your effective druid level. Bonded mounts have an Intelligence score of at least 6.

My question is can I or are you open to me not selecting a horse or camel. Neither seem fitting for Arlok. I was thinking the Warcat. If I take this I would be considered 7th level so it would be Large size and big enough to ride.

My alternative to this if restricted to horse will be enhance Wind Mystery so the Armor bonus is +6 for 7 hours a day and I would get wings usable 7 minutes a day.

Both aid combat in different ways. The wings add some versatility. The cat will give us another tank and damage dealer. What do you guys think assuming GM approves alternative animal.

@Arlok: Like I said before, pets are very, very cool. And Warcats are among the coolest. Dunno why, I always thought Arlok was almost giant like, and thinking about him riding anything at all feels odd. Just my impression, means nothing of course :D

But... In my experience, for a melee character, mobility is key, and flight even more so. It will make a HUGE difference, so I'd say go with the wings.

Also, if Brok is about to get a pet too, it seems a little odd that we'd suddenly become a traveling zoo.

Wings it is then. I like this the most as well, but we lack a little in the melee department when facing multiple foes. Slumber hex makes any one on one big bad a save or die so that's great in a dungeon as dangerous as this one. Yes I never intended to ride the cat :)

Sorry for the delay in posting, I have had a crazy week in RL.

After looking at options, Varg is going to take a 1 level dip into Kineticist (Telekineticist)(Kinetic Knight). I want Varg to focus on more combat maneuvers, and with his low Int, he does not qualify for Combat Expertise. Kinetic Knight avoids the Combat Expertise problem and the Int 13 problem. In addition, with the Telekineticist, it gives some nice utility (Mage Hand), and the ability to damage incorporeal and other high DR enemies.

I will try to get this finished tomorrow, but feel free to move forward, I will catch up.

Interesting. I am using Chrome on my PC and the color shows fine. Have you guys updated Chrome on your PCs?

As a former lifelong Mac cultist fan, I can say from experience that the reason to use a PC is because ever since Steve Jobs died the end user experience that used to be the focus of Apple's design philosophy has been in a death spiral.

Exhibit A: iTunes.
Exhibit B: F+*+ing dongles.
Exhibit C: Upgrading to El Capitan caused older laptops to run so hot that the solder melted the logic board and graphics card. It took a class action lawsuit to get them to admit this problem at all.

I still love my Mac. I have to reboot it at least once a month, sometimes less. My PC at work is always locking up, and Window's insistence on changing everything every time they "upgrade" their software is incredibly annoying. In addition, unless they have changed, Windows still makes you pay for every upgrade of almost everything. With Mac, the software and operating system upgrades are usually free.

Apple clearly is undergoing some strains since Steve Jobs passed away, but it is still vastly superior to anything Microsoft is capable of producing.

Just waiting to see if Keil will retract his strike. Just FYI the ogre is considered Pinned but not Helpless, so there is no CdG attempt here.

Hmmmph, no CdG. All the same, I don't think Keil is worried about the ogre; not with Arlok's blade hovering near the brute's throat. And considering what's been threatened (Keil did cut off a finger) I'm not sold on the idea that this one is prime bodyguard material Grezzor. Unless Grezzor has some strong Voodoo, Keil's action stands - let the fun continue :)

GM, I need to know two things-

1) How many ogres were there total?

2) Was the chief Advanced or Templated (or did he just have class levels)?


Praetor:

1) Total of 5 ogres, including Ambrose.

2) Ambrose did have class levels.

Animation steps-

1) Taking 15 minutes to use my open 3rd level spell slot to memorize Deathwine.

2) Using a scroll of Desecrate.

4) Casting Deathwine on my Potion of Cure Moderate Wounds, then drinking the potion (to boost the caster level of my next Necromancy spell by 2)

5) Using a scroll of Animate Dead, with a dose of Alchemically refined Salt. (The Salt and the Deathwine boost my caster level to 8 for the purposes of casting this spell)

6) Animating 4 Ogres as Bloody Skeletons. (The Bloody template makes them count as twice their hit dice while animating them, so I can only do 4 even with all the caster level boosts)

I'll have our new ogre minions' stats up in a few minutes.

If you want to learn the ways of the Necromancer, I'd be happy to teach you. You're a wizard so all the important stuff is on your spell list. Necromancy is one of those things that only gets better the more people you have doing it.

As a practical matter, I would rather avoid taking non-lethal damage every time we have to pass adjacent to the undead horde.
