Is today the day?!!
Also relax on the PDF hold folks. God forbid you have to wait an extra week for something you get for free. They did the same thing for P2 when it came out and we all lived.
It's just super inconvenient for those of us going to Gen Con - they used to let you pick up the physical books at the convention, but they've stopped doing that. I'm signed up for some SFS sessions at the con, and I can't create my PC ahead of the convention now, so at the convention I'll have to squint at my tiny mobile screen to use the pdf. It's very unlikely that my physical book will arrive before I leave for the convention. I was honestly suspecting that the pdf would be delayed due to previous years, so I was actively checking and looking for such an announcement. Finding this out now if really disappointing.
Is it the end of the world? No, I'll manage. But I do feel disappointed that they couldn't even let us know this except through a passive-aggressive placeholder pdf. Having my expectations built up and then knocked down is never fun.

Meh, Paizo isn't entitled to have people be content with delaying the PDFs, especially since all their communication has stated that it would be in our downloads once products shipped.
For me, the main motivator for subscribing is precisely the early-release searchable PDFs, and I view the the physical release book as a discounted bonus. By nuking the early PDF benefit with zero notice, I'm not motivated to subscribe.
It would be one thing if Paizo actually told customers of the very-intentional delay before charging us. But they chose to not do that, depriving us of making an informed decision that's best for our needs. Boo!
Anyways, since my order hasn't shipped, I just emailed customer service telling them to cancel it and revoke my subscription. I don't want this scummy business practice to affect me any longer than it needs to.

I cleared cache and got it to work. File is out there. Thanks!

Again they are not promised to be early release. You're just expecting that, because they have been most times int he past. As others have pointed out, they also did this exact same process when PF2 launched.

In this case, as other people have said, Paizo has sent people emails saying that they would get the pdfs when the book ships. I just checked my order email, and right under the entry for SF2 Player Core, it says 'Will be in your downloads once shipped.' I realize this is just what subscription orders always say, but Paizo did tell us we would get the PDF when our order shipped, not 2 weeks later.

That's the problem, they did promise the early release pdf, or at least strongly implied it. They've been advertising it at the bottom of each Iconic Encounters post with the following:
Be the first to play Starfinder Second Edition by subscribing to the Starfinder RPG or Starfinder RPG (Special Edition) lines and receive a free PDF when your book ships!
And as Redelia said, every order states that the pdf will be available when the book ships. The problem here isn't that the pdf is being delayed, it's that they never said it was while also advertising that it wouldn't be.

I'll add my voice to the noise. Long time purchaser of Paizo products, first time subscriber. I specifically subscribed for the early access to the PDF, and only did so because of the messaging suggesting we would get access early if we had a subscription. Paizo has never done wrong be me, but this feels particularly dirty - enough to make me comment after 10 years of contentment.

I mean, technically, you do get a free pdf, just not of the book. Very "What am I supposed to do with an empty case?" vibe to it though.

I agree with you. Don't advertise what is not delivered.

I'm still on pending. Card hasn't been charge or anything yet. It's only my second time with the subscription, but this is taking way longer than last time. I guess it's because there's lots of stuff releasing together?
I think it depends on a number of factors.
That being said, for the past 3 or 4 Gen Cons my pdfs and shipments have been released after the shipping dates.
This also happened to me last month.

Ah. That would not be ideal. I've got a week long trip at the beginning of the month and I'd rather the book not arrive while I'm away. Well, fingers crossed it'll get here before then.

I think that there is nothing wrong in the feelings of disappointment. Don't let others on this board, as some are apt to do, tell you what you should or should not be feeling about it, either way.

With this months releases and all I'm not surprised about the delay in shipping. My Watch also is ongoing. But part of the reason I'm not as impatient is ironically due to the PDF lock on the Starfinder Player Core, So I was going to haveto deal with a delay on it anyway.
I know other people were doing subscriptions for the early PDF, I'm more of a penny-pincer so I was doing it more for getting the PDF for free. So the delay doesn't bother me as long as I get the PDF by the street date. :)

I will be surprised if I get my notification before Friday. Probably some time next week, if history repeats itself.
Does your order say waiting for backordered product/s as well?

Which you may not per my experience.

Not that I can see from my order information.
If one has been a subscriber for a while, I do not see why their order would be on backorder. Those numbers should be taken into account when Paizo makes their order, one would think.I have asked in the past if Paizo would let us know the shipping process but they have never responded to that request.

They have talked about the shipping process many times. They do shipping in batches of like orders. It's not necessarily in the order of the most orders but in the easiest to package and ship together. The order of batching of these batches is not a set order however, and different months are going to behave differently. In a month like this month with lots of products, you're going to see a lot of different combinations, and that's going to have impact on how the shipping process seems to go.

Thank you for speaking on Paizo's behalf. I am sure they appreciate it.

Oh, my sweet summer child...
It goes right up to the last day of expected subscription shipping and sometimes over.

Still waiting on mine too. One of my friends is also a subscriber (but he gets everything and I don't). It is kind of funny seeing which of us gets the books first.
There was a stretch where I was getting my shipping notice within the first few hours. It seems to have dropped off more recently.
I suspect I am in a weird group this month, since I am just getting Battlecry and the Starfinder novel, but not any of the Starfinder books.
No bother. It will arrive when it does and I will live, despite my anticipation.

It is not uncommon in my experience for the GEN CON releases for me to get my items shipped after the deadline, though that happened to me last month as well for only a few items. That is what I get for not wanting all of the regular things that I am subscribed for or adding a subscription like the Starfinder 2e books.
