Pricing and Level on Envenomed Snare makes no sense

Grand Lodge

The Envenomed Snare (Level 7, 60 gp, Grand Bazaar) requires 2 doses of Giant Wasp Venom (Level 7, 55 gp, CRB).

To me, that doesn't make a lot of sense, both from financial and game balance perspectives.

Would it not be more appropriate to use something like Hunter Spider Venom (Remastered Spider Venom), which is lower level and cost?

Why would you want to use the lower level poison? It has a lower save DC and does lower damage for each of the stages.

If you really wanted to use the level 5 poison for the Envenomed Snare, I would probably also change the snare's level, price, and its own save DC to also be appropriate for a level 5 item.

Agreed.

It is weird indeed, It effectively becomes an alchemist only item. It cannot be intentional that trap needing 60gp worth of materials also needs 90gp worth of venom.

My view on it is that the giant wasp venom is supposed to be part of the material cost like seen within the legacy Mudrock Snare from the same book, which means either they wrote 2 doses on mistake or they were referring to another poison. The former would mean the actual requirement is 1 dose of venom and 5gp worth of other materials.
