From the hustle and bustle of a busy shopping center to the dilapidated and overgrown shell of a once appealing mall, there’s always adventure to be found in giant marketplaces across the galaxy. One side of these maps depicts a futuristic shopping center, with an open entryway for crowds to mingle and luxurious food court to enjoy a bite to eat. If we want to have our Pathfinder adventure path subscription include the hardcover version for the Seven Dooms of Sandpoint adventure instead of the softcover version, what is the best approach to address that?

Emailing CS or create a ticket in the Customer Support Portal

Thanks - that's certainly a couple of ways to do it, but I was really looking for the kind of specifics that would spell out the overall best approach.
I.e.:
- Do they prefer an email or the portal?
- Should I do it before order generation or after?
- Is there preferred language I should use in the request, so that it's easily filtered for in the ticketing system?
- Are there any additional steps that should be taken, like putting in a preorder for the hardcover separately in my sidecart, and then sending the request, or is it better to not do that because it makes more work for the CS team?
- etc.
Additionally, by posting the question here I was attempting to prompt them into giving that kind of guidance so it would be specifically available for everyone.

Adventure Path subscriptions will have the softcover by default. If you'd like to swap it out for the hardcover, please send a support ticket in through the Customer Service Portal (email works too; they both go to the same ticketing system).

This ended up being pretty wrong for the main piece material to the actual issue (timing of ticket), and question 4 (other steps needed) wasn't addressed at all. Here's the relevant part of the reply I got from customer service:
Thank you for reaching out. If you are wishing to get the hardcover of the Seven Dooms for Sandpoint instead of the softcover version, we are asking customers to please preorder the hardcover book and to then email in customer service when your subscription order for the softcover is populated/ created. That way we can cancel your softcover edition and then your hardcover, once its ready to be shipped out, will be shipped to you instead.

I previously received the same guidance cited by RicoTheBold a few posts above - that I needed to preorder the Hardcover and then submit an email asking to have the softcover removed. So I did that, and put in the ticket to customer service several weeks ago.
I got my order generation today, and even though I tried twice to get them to swap my softcover of Seven Dooms for the Hardcover, they generated it with BOTH being shipped. And charging me for both.
I've sent another message to customer service, and I'm posting this here as well. Really hoping they get this fixed before it ships. If not, I suppose they'll just have to refund me eventually. And I can't help but wonder how many others are in my situation.

They will, I'm in the same boat. I'm not sure why they didn't remove it when I asked them to swap the books out.

As H2Osw also stated, that happened to me too. I even sent an attached screenshot of my preload pointing to where it was duplicated. But they said it was OK that it wouldn't create doubled books and yet it did. So took a screenshot of my order and sent it to the team. Again. :)

Customer Service got back to me too - mine is fixed.
I know they're working extra hard to get everyone taken care of. Hopefully they'll get some additional help hired in soon.
In the meantime - still, always, I remain an enthusiastic Paizo customer! And greatly looking forward to seeing this month's shipment!
