So there's all kinds of things on the internet that have potential to get a player or GM's mind spinning with ideas. If you find something that made you think "hey I bet I could use that in a game." Post it here.
For the monster homebrewers: What is over a hundred tons, lived in shallow water where even PCs in a non-aquatic campaign could run into it and is carnivorous?
Meet Perucetus Colossus
For PC inspiration and character artists: It's pretty common knowledge that in the time periods that inspired fantasy roleplaying pretty much everyone carried a knife of some kind. Have you put any thought into what kind your character carries?
What does your character's dagger say about them? Eat cheese or die, perhaps?

Next time you use chuul in your game, consider that at least some variants are shiny with a higher AC, possibly recyclable*, and delicious to rust monsters.
* So far, 'wampi field researchers have found none filled with tasty beer or soda.

Over the 30+ years I was a gamer I found so many sources of inspiration. Probably too many to remember, but here are some of them -
Historical Chinese war movies set during the Three Kingdoms era - "Red Cliff" is an amazing film, but be sure to get the five and a half hour version. You don't want to miss a thing. Another is a Korean film called "War of the Arrow". Just stellar.
Basically any archaeological book, website, or television show (before the History Channel, NatGeo, and Discovery all jumped the shark. I can't bear to watch them now). National Geographic Magazine was always a great inspiration for historical articles of ancient civilizations.
Articles or shows about animals, both extant and extinct. I substituted a LOT of the mammals in my homebrew campaign with extinct creatures like saber-toothed cats for modern big cats, scores of different herbivores to populate the grasslands and forests from the past, and so forth. I tended to not use dinosaurs as I felt they'd been done to death in fantasy adventure settings, though.
I grew up in rural Arkansas, so finding abandoned home sites and even old manganese mining sites are good imagination fuel. Old folk tales of the Ozarks and the Appalachians are also phenomenal. And go out of your way to learn about mythical beasts from non-European style settings. There are plenty in the bestiaries.
Hope you find zabillions of new ideas!

Good idea - I shall have to engrave that on one of them...
The ridiculous(ly fantastic) armour of Fillipo Negroli.
A book I will always, always heartily recommend to anyone - Otherlands, by Thomas Halliday

I watch a lot of movies.
Actually, strike that. I watch a lot of bad movies. And some tv series.
I find that the worse the tv show or the movie, the more I get inspired by it. Completely over the top NPCs, insane plots, and weird plot holes. Pretty much like any game session I've been a part of, essentially.
I also surf weird parts of the web. The SCP Foundation has been a consistent place where I can go to look at items. I tend to want different impulses from all over the board before something gels.
DeviantArt is a great resource for inspirational graphics. The worldbuilding subreddit a good place for maps, tips, and so on. I tend to have the visual first, and then build a story around that. That way, I ensure that I can show, don't tell.
Various conspiracy theories are also good, because they show how something can start out pretty reasonable, and then go off the deep end.
Good tv shows and movies, of course, can also be useful. But, ironically, I find that the bad ones are better for me.

Welcome, friends.
Nice!! Thanks, Freehold! I'm bookmarking every list post I come across so that if I ever manage to get back into GMing I'll have more things to draw inspiration from.

This is a bit of a long video but well worth the time.
Cursed Blades and Dark Swords in Myth and Fantasy
A lot of stuff for an Evil GM in there.

It's been a while. So lot's of RPG's have spider-people of some sort. Pathfinder notably has Anadi. Have you ever considered that such people are likely to be highly musical?

That's a really interesting bit of news! And now I have to create a Drow symphonic metal band.
