Is there a decent necro-type build that can eventually get some sort of resurrection ability?

Advice

I'm not talking about wands or scrolls or whatever, but an actual class ability. I'm guessing it'd be some sort of hybrid.

Basically, I have a necroccultist who I'm really enjoying playing, but eventually I want to reclass them in a way that feels sensible in-character. At a point where they sort of begin to change their views (a very pessimistic character who's views have been affected by someone they have developed feelings for, among other events), and they begin to think of using their skills and talents in a sort of... almost cleric-like way. I still want the dark and twisted sense that comes with necro, like a warped, weird cleric of sorts who is a little bit strange, still effective... you get what I mean, hopefully. They're chaotic good, though they started out chaotic neutral.

The biggest element I'd like to play with is someone who goes from raising corpses to do their bidding (they're very pet-based), to actually raising someone from the dead properly. Actually being able to heal and cure people, with a sort of darker twist. Maybe they summon spirits to remove illness from someone.

I have no idea if this is a thing, but I think it'd be really fun to play with. Any ideas?

Play a cleric. Even evil clerics have access t spells that raise the dead and there is nothing that prevents them from doing so. It is just a matter of finding the right deity. You will probably need a deity who is neutral on the good/evil axis.

I had considered that and I probably should have mentioned this (totally my bad), but basically all the gods are currently dead or MIA in our story. We're a bit limited on more religion-oriented characters. We have a a paladin on the team and he's going through quite a lot, and a big part of his personal story is trying to find/save his god. So I'd hate to take away from that because we'd both be in very similar situations. My character is also pretty anti-god himself, so it wouldn't fit his personality, unfortunately.

Spiritualist is a psychic caster that has raise dead on their spell list (as well as animate dead and create undead) and their phantom is sort of undead-like. The necrologist archetype changes the phantom to an undead spirit instead of an outsider; the shadow caller archetype changes the phantom to a shade from the shadow plane.

Spell Sage Wizard can cast Cleric (and Druid) spells, and for resurrection spells, the limits to the respective ability aren't a problem.

An oracle has the same spell list as a cleric so could easily work. The Juju mystery might work as it allows you to create non-evil undead.

I wanted to mention oracle, but I’m unsure how they may interact with the No gods issue. While oracles don’t get their powers from any god in particular, they do draw from a generic godly pool.

Didn't that get retconned?
