How many times can Blightburn Paste be used?

Rules Questions

Character wants to buy blightburn paste and use it against groups of enemies. Can it be used an indefinite number of times or is it a single use item?

That's an interesting question with no real guidelines.

Let's consider that it's effects are to block teleportation and to cause irradation/blightburn sickness (and sometimes damage if you touch it).

The blightburn sickness doesn't really matter because it takes 1 day of onset time, and the enemy will either be dead or get away and presumably while off screen be healed.

How I would rule is that if you remove the paste from it's container to put it on anything that you have used it up and would need to buy more.

If you only open the outside container that blocks the radiation and anti--teleportation effect I would say that you can use it many times.

If however as a GM I thought this would be a problem I would either say that the item is unavailable or you all would get cancer from the repeated radiation exposure.

So ultimately, I'd leave it up to a GM to decide what fits for their campaign.

The Exchange

It’s a naturally occurring Darklands mineral mixed in with some animal fat. The effects of the paste are identical to what happens if you encounter some of the crystal.

I don’t see any reason it would be consumed if you just open the box. If you smear it on something then yeah, it’s gone.
