How many spells for a 12th level Magus with Wizard Archetype?

Rules Discussion

So normally with an spellcasting archetype, you can take class/archetype feats to take spells. Basic spellcasting would give up to 3rd level spells. Breadth would give a few additional spells. But what happens with a 12th level magus who has taken wizard archetype?

Normally with a non-arcane class, you would take expert spellcasting at 12th to take a 4th level spell. However, the magus already has expert arcane spellcasting. Are you out of luck for higher level wizard spells? Do you get those spells for "free" since you have the expert spellcasting?

So how would this class combo. work?

You get expert spellcasting, which is meaningless because you already have it from Magus, and you also get the wizard spell slots which are not meaningless.

You don't gain spell slots just because your base class is a specialist. These extra slots are given specifically by the feat:

Core Rulebook pg. 219 4.0 - Spellcasting Archetypes wrote:

Basic Spellcasting Feat: Usually gained at 4th level, these feats grant a 1st-level spell slot. At 6th level, they grant you a 2nd-level spell slot, and if you have a spell repertoire, you can select one spell from your repertoire as a signature spell. At 8th level, they grant you a 3rd-level spell slot. Archetypes refer to these benefits as the "basic spellcasting benefits".

Expert Spellcasting Feat: Usually taken at 12th level, these feats make you an expert in spell attack rolls and DCs of the appropriate magical tradition and grant you a 4th-level spell slot. If you have a spell repertoire, you can select a second spell from your repertoire as a signature spell. At 14th level, they grant you a 5th-level spell slot, and at 16th level, they grant you a 6th-level spell slot. Archetypes refer to these benefits as the "expert spellcasting benefits".

Master Spellcasting Feat: Usually appearing at 18th level, these feats make you a master in spell attack rolls and DCs of the appropriate magical tradition and grant you a 7th-level spell slot. If you have a spell repertoire, you can select a third spell from your repertoire as a signature spell. At 20th level, they grant you an 8th-level spell slot. Archetypes refer to these benefits as the "master spellcasting benefits".

So what happens in the case of the magus. As you are already a specialist and master in conjuration when you take these feats, your DC does not change, even the basic conjuration DC already becomes a specialist because of the class when you gain Expert Spellcasting for it. But the additional spell slots you only get when you acquire the feat of the archetype as they only come with the feat of the archetype, they are not a benefit provided by the dedication.
