Building a sylph gnome fighter with wyrmblessed sorcerer dedication - PFS

Background

A month ago, I built a sylph gnome named Bitty Blue, a gnome from the Mwangi Expanse with a grandfather who's a Cloud Dragon. But as I was watching Nonat1's video on Multiclass Archetypes for every class that I came across his idea for fighter with the wyrmblessed sorcerer dedication. I've never built a fighter before, but the idea of one with a sorcerer dedication intrigued me -- especially since this fighter could also be descended from Cloud Dragons and be Bitty's brother, Barak Blue.

What I already know of the character

Ancestry: Sylph Gnome
1st Level Ancestry Feat: Gnome Weapon Familiarity for the Gnome Flickmace

I also know that I will be spending his 2nd and 4th level class feats on Sorcerer Dedication and Basic Sorcerer Spellcasting.

But I'd love your suggestions on everything else, especially that all-important first level fighter feat.

Hmm

Gnome Flickmace means that your other hand is available. Open handed for grappling and other combat maneuvers, or shield? Edit: Or dual wield?

How hard is it to pull off grappling and such? I mostly play Investigators and Casters, so this is new territory for me.

Dual wielding sounds fun. What do you suggest?

Mostly I am looking at that 1st level feat.

Grapple, trip, and shove only require having a hand free and that you keep up your proficiency in Athletics. Though you can also get and use Snagging Strike, which is a pretty nice debuff rider on your first attack each round. Your party's Rogue will thank you. As will your second attack in the round.

If you want to go with dual wielding, Double Slice is the go-to for that. Two attacks at zero MAP is hard to beat. Not sure how well this combines with the Flickmace unless you pick up another reach weapon with agile - such as a whip. But when enemies close in on you, you can hit with the Flickmace and shortsword with no problems.

Edit: No, whip has finesse, but not agile.

Having a free hand will also allow easier use of potions, as well as wands and scrolls for the caster side of the concept.

Having a hand free might also allow casting the spells or using dragon claws. That snagging strike could be interesting.

The other options I am looking at are:

  • Exacting Strike -- Makes it more likely that one of my iterative attacks will hit.
  • Sudden Charge -- Get there more swiftly.

I am seriously looking at that snagging strike though, because in PFS making something flat-footed to everyone is a great debuff that will help the whole team hit.

    Thoughts?

    Hmm

Snagging Strike has been used in every combat by the fighter in my group since level 1. The character is now level 10 and is still using it as part of a standard rotation. It is a great set-up for his follow-up Dual-Handed Assault as well as making it easier for my sorcerer to land spell attack rolls.
    I highly recommend the feat.
