Jump On and Enemy?

Rules Discussion

Wayfinders

I am new to Gm'ing PF2e and the other day I had a player who was five feet away from an enemy and on a ledge 5 ft above them. The player wanted to jump down on the enemy using a power attack with his longsword as he came down. Is this possible and how would you rule it?

There's no specific support for it, or generally for doing actions in midair.

Jump off (1 action) and power attacking (2 actions) after landing is easily supported.

That's the "let's just look at basic RAW part". In terms of how I'd actually run it, there's no reason at all not to allow this description that isn't giving better action economy than basic rules. If you want to encourage this sort of engaging with the environment (which I think is a fine thing to do), you could grant a Circumstance bonus to that attack roll for an effective approach that the rules of the system totally support.

Probably a +1 circumstance bonus to be specific.
