Firefighting Equipment Build?

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

So I'm working on putting together a compilation of equipment used to extinguish fires, or aid the effort of handling a fire. A lot of what I've been looking for on reddit and the forums here, but searches get diluted with articles about "Fighters" and "Fire", but not in the context I'm seeking. While Google continues isn't any help.

I'm looking for any ideas you've outside my list. This is primarily equipment based, and not class or race based. Primarily looking for mundane items, but some magic equipment items are welcome too.

I've found this environmental ruleset on d20pfsrd. Which provides some helpful details on how fires spread, dealing with burning buildings and smoke inhalation, as well as some examples for dousing a fire. (20 waterskins for one square? Sheesh.)

https://www.d20pfsrd.com/gamemastering/environment/environmental-rules/

The Firefighter list
Equipment:
Fire pump (Fire truck... Lasts 1 min.)
Water pump canister. (Fire extinguishers... Lasts 4 rounds)
Ladder (Second Story extraction)
Collapsible trampoline (Deploys in 1 min.)
Second Story Harness (I'm trying to think of a scenario where this would be helpful.)

Tools:
Saw (Can cut hinges to get through doors... There's not really a "Woodcutters Axe" or a "Fireaxe" that exists. They're all weapons, the handaxe and battleaxe both require martial proficiency.)
Sledgehammer (Obvious.)
Shovel (Dig Dirt, create trenches)
Buckets (Carry Dirt, or water... But the Pumps purpose is water.)

Clothes:
Filter Hoods (Helps protect eyes, mouth and nose from smoke)
Flame retardant outfit. (Standard Firemans outfit)
Fire resistant boots. (Completes the clothes set)

Been trying to find something like sand or dirt, or a dirt/sand bomb. Something you could throw that would *POOF* scattering dirt or sand to douse fire. But as I'm going over all the equipment options, it doesn't look like anything like that exists.

look up the alchemical lists as well. for example these should prove extra usful when air is limited - Air crystals.

also make extra sure you have some magical way to put out fire. a level 1 (or above) pyromaniac cleric with the fire domain can make an 8 hour casting of ceremony which would grant 2 creatures (plus 1 per level if augmented) the following terrifying ability:
"Fire
Fire Calling. Nonmagical fires the subject makes cannot be extinguished by nonmagical means, though spells and other magical effects function as normal..."

in a certain evil adventure path, my group which started in prison, used this to cover up their escape by setting the whole place into a blazing inferno that couldn't be put down until magical aid came. (we took out the casters first)

When targeting objects the -4 to hit for lacking proficiency is irrelevant.

If the firefighter has only 1 attack each round it can spend a full round and hit automatically:

CRB p. 173 - Smashing an Object wrote:
if you take a full-round action to line up a shot, you get an automatic hit with a melee weapon and a +5 bonus on attack rolls with a ranged weapon.

If he has a BAB of 6+ and wants to use his iterative attack, a typical wooden door has an AC of 3. Even with the -4 the iterative attacks would hit most of the time.

[quoter=CRB]An object’s Armor Class is equal to 10 + its size modifier (see Table 7–11) + its Dexterity modifier. An inanimate object has not only a Dexterity of 0 (–5 penalty to AC), but also an additional –2 penalty to its AC.

The big problem is the hardness of the objects if the firefighter doesn't have a good strength modifier.

As we are speaking in the general forum, I see no problem in creating a firefighting axe, something like this:

"Firefighting axe: made to break rapidly doors and windows, this axe treats the target hardness as it was 2 points lower when used on an inanimate object.
As it is somewhat unwieldy when used for the sunder maneuver, the user suffers a -4 penalty to his CMB.
Damage 2d4, martial proficiency"

Decanters of Endless Water would probably be a staple of any Firefighter Brigade in a metropolis or wealthy city/town.

Some might even have Ghost Masks and jackets enchanted with Endure Elements.

I will try to dig out my Hospitaler Paladin named Florian Maltese. He was "firefighter/paramedic" type. He used an axe, rolled down leather boots, etc. (I've been in the Fire Service 36 years so I nerded out and had fun with him.)

He had set up a "fire station" with a wagon with pails, barrels of water, ladders, axes, pike poles, etc. as well as distributing pails and barrels of water area town at corners and such. If I can find him I will see what else he had for fire and medical gear and such.

I did find this also:
