"Henry Flaxseed of the Flaxseed family of the noble city of Taldor!" a young boy shouts as a middle-aged halfling wearing a tabard with an elaborate family crest strides into the room.
I've never played him via PbP so his profile doesn't have his stats currently. I'll get that updated some time this week.
Scruffy Flaxseed, Henry's father, died in this scenario (when I was GMing) so Henry is out for revenge!

![]() |

Hello everyone. Glad to meat you all. It looks like we are ranging between 3rd - 5th level. I have heard that this was also a very good scenario, a bit difficult for PbP because it had a lot of investigation and easy to miss a few things, but I am looking forward to it.

Hi, all! Glad to join in here.
As the brash Taldan is announced, another halfling, dressed in green and brown looks sternly over his cup at the cacophony coming from across the room. To his side is a brownish-red bird with an ornate saddle and a hooded cloak, cheerily tearing at the remains of an unfortunate rat who won't be stealing from the kitchen any longer.
What's all this brouhaha? he thinks. Bah! Another Taldan fop with the thinnest line of blue in his blood making enough noise to stir the hordes of Belzken...
Orryn says nothing aloud, however, and absently strokes his pet as he returns to his drink and his thoughts.

I am wrapping up the final combat on Blakrose matrimony with this character but will be ready to go by the end of the week.

The noble Flaxseed clan began with my archaeologist (Trotter) and has slowly expanded among the locals.
Grandpa: Scruffy (Mike B's gunslinger, dead)
Grandma: Eadie (Jessica's aged alchemist who hands out her "Werther's Originals" to opponents)
the three sons:
Horatio (Mike B's cavalier)
Henry (my cavalier)
"Black Bart" (my rogue-the black sheep of the noble family)
Henry's kids:
Trotter (my archaeologist, who founded the Cassomir PFS Lodge)
Lilian (Becca's witch)
Horatio's adopted kid:
Hotor (Quinn's half-orc/half-wit barbarian who thinks he's a halfling - he calls full orcs "lings" and has ranks in Craft: fingerpainting. Definitely one of the most colorful local characters)

![]() |

So we have two halflings riding beasts? Now I wish I could have brought Dora and Boots...but alas she is too late in her career to meet these fine gentle 'obbits on the mission. :-)

![]() |

Henry's on third so he just has a wolf. Next level he's getting one kind of dinosaur or another. Probably a brachiosaurus.

Well, Orryn was a GM baby for two levels, cos mechanically it just wouldn't work until he could afford a haversack...and even then, he had a lance and his haversack and a loin cloth until he got enough gold for a suit of darkwood wooden armor. LOL

![]() |

Fen, Baz nice to be playing with you two again. Hopefully it will not tak a month to finish up the combat in the Blakros... This character is the complete opposite of Ditena.
A palor thin man with jet black hair and ice blue eyes wearing fine clothes of an autumn palette enters the conversation. He is well spoken and well versed.
Greetings most valuable allies! It is an extreme pleasure meet all of you!

A slight, twitching man walks in. As he makes his way through the door, he draws out a small folded piece of paper. He hands the paper to the Venture Captain.
The VC unfolds the paper. No message is written out. The only mark on the paper is a simple dot.

Yes! Maaarv! Magic user baby, what! I've been waiting to play with him!
I really want to create a character called Hector the Well-Endowed.
If you guys haven't seen the Community DnD episode I'm talking about, FOR SHAME!

![]() |

Maaarv may get called out. It depends on if his current assignment ends in time. Which it may not. If so, then Linnea will join up. So, she's poking her head in here to say howdy to everyone.

It was the best episode of community ever. Chan as a drow... amazing.
"The most important game of Dungeons and Dragons ever"
Is everyone gnomes and halflings?

Fendahl is half-elf and is currently trying to finish up Blakrose with Ditena.
Nice to see you Linnea...still alive and all.
I almost need a diagram to keep track of which of my characters knows each of the other player characters these days. Lots of permutations.

@ Vasilios - "I beat you at Dungeons & Dragons....and it was Advanced!"
@Fendahl - yeah, I had to check you out. I feel like I've been a wet blanket in the Sanos Abduction that you're running. Just been having a hard time with that Ezrek pregen. No excuse.
Linnea is half-elf as well. On break from adventuring with the usual gang of misfits and dope-addicts... and Omrax. :)

Also check out the first episode of Season 4 of "The IT Crowd" - I think the episode's title is "The Fredo". And the series finale of "Freaks & Geeks" - better dramatizations of playing D&D than that Tom Hanks move "Mazes and Monsters".
Though that is a pretty hilariously bad movie.

Eager to begin, so a little about me. I am a combat heavy Reach warrior with a little bit of extra divine spell casting on the side. Depending on how maps are run in the PbP game, I can either be strong or not so much, as most of my ability comes from AoOs.
I originally belonged to the Osirion Faction, but converted to the Shadow Lodge, a group I am still very fond of and avid member of still. Because of limited imagination on some people's part, I was forced to officially not be a Shadow Lodge member, or so the VC's think, and I heard the need for aid in the call to arms of Taldor. I joined that Faction to raise arms in the new Crusade, and was given the titles of Lord Baron and Huscarl. My main weapon is the Longspear, WitchHammer so named because it struck down the drug dealing witch of Bloodcove, and has since then receive many notches for slaying various BBEG's. I tend to merder, (LG style) dark druids and the like that misuse nature or the natural world, or poison communities in ways such as drugs.
Recently, I slew the last known members of a Goblin tribe, and rescued an Owlbear from their stupidity, which decided to follow me into battle. Both being oddities, we found a certain unspoken kenship, and I have since trained him in the rare art of the Australian Ninja Drop Bear Clawed Hand descending from Heaven.

Yanos, a pleasure to meet you.
I've been taking some time off from doing work for the Society. I last ventured with my favored group of Pathfinders to help out with a caravan route that had been waylaid by some pesky goblins raising the dead. But they're busy taking care of some group called the Twincandles - a gang I believe.
I try to be quick with a joke to lighten the mood and help keep everyone at their fightin' best. While my scorpion whip can sting a bit, I prefer to use it to trip my enemies - allowing my heftier companions a better chance at putting them away. I tend to stay out of the politics of the different factions, but I've been happy with Andoran - my distant cousin belonged to the faction and recommended it to me when I joined up with the Society.

Ezrek has a pregen! I'm flattered!

If any of your characters have played Assault on the Kingdom Impossible, the squire is Waman. Henry took him in (I actually bought one of the follower vanities).

![]() |

I need to double check the wording on the chronicle sheet but I'm pretty sure Henry has a boon from Shades of Ice Part III that gives him constant Endure Elements. I just can't remember if it applies to hot environments as well because that was a northern series. I'll double check before it becomes relevant.

I just got that one myself. It only cold down to 0 degrees.
Heading back home, should a have a post up in a few hours.

![]() |

Ok, thanks. That's what I thought because it makes the most sense but I couldn't remember.

![]() |

"Waman, my sword!"
Where is "Waman" from. I remember him from one of the scenarios I've run. Did you "buy" him from 01-33, :)

EndlessForms |

Yep, that's it. Assault on the Kingdom Impossible. I bought him so I could take him in and reform him and paid the PP to make him my herald or squire or something, can't remember which one but he basically functions as both.

GM Tektite |

@Yanos- No problem, probably my fault. I'm so used to playing with the same groups of players that I failed to explain how I run combats. I do not rotate the names through the initiative order, rather I continue to repost the original order and list who is up below that. Like I said, I really appreciate posting early if that is your opportunity to post and its much easier if players edit the map themselves, since they know what they want to do.
Speaking of which, I altered your action since the other hobgoblin went down. If you wanted to something else, feel free to correct me.

![]() |

Linnea just gets a little feisty if she thinks that people are being overly protective of her. She feels the need to prove herself - especially with the rest of the group being all male.
From a player perspective, it doesn't bother me at all. So please, no worries.

![]() |

Cool.
I got accused in another online game I'm in of creating inter-party conflict due to my roleplay, so I'm prolly overly-sensitive about it right now. Need a thicker skin, I guess. LOL

![]() |

GIVE ME BACK MY IDENTITY.
I keep thinking the same thing.

![]() |

Orryn's shorter than Beleg. ;-)
Yeah, really. Fortunately the GM knows me and knows I'm not usually like that, so he kinda stepped in to smooth things out. And to be as fair as I can to the complainers, the PC is a GM baby without a roleplay history so I'm still fleshing details out, plus he's more than a little addled so he's challenging to talk to.
Since I've run the scenario in question before (Glass River Rescue), I was throwing out a few cockamamie ideas during the plotting stage that was perceived as trying to keep the players from getting their prestige points. Needless to say, I've pulled back and am not doing much of anything beyond combat dice-rolling in that one.
But enough whining. Putting on my big-boy pants, building a bridge, and getting over it.

![]() |

At any rate... I didn't see anything that came across as derailing anything. I think what happens sometimes is players read the bold stuff, but don't read the descriptions as carefully. Which sucks, if someone takes the time to type it out, fellow players should take the time to read the post. Though, I know I've been guilty of scanning posts - especially when I'm at work.
My favorite in-character arguing is still from my very first PbP - Sewer Dragons of Absalom. Desmond vs. Sahar.
