Fiendish Obedience Gogunta and Extra Croaking...

Advice

So we have a 16HD Boggard [or Racial Heritage] with Fiendish Obedience Gogunta and Damned Soldier to get this:
Boggard’s Blessing (Ex) Your form becomes batrachian in aspect, like the frogfolk of the marshes. You gain the boggard’s hold breath, sticky tongue, and terrifying croak abilities. In addition, you count as a boggard for the purpose of effects, including prerequisites (although you lose access to related options if you haven’t performed your obedience). If you are a boggard, you instead gain a permanent +2 profane bonus to Strength, Dexterity, Constitution, and the DC of your terrifying croak ability, and you can use your terrifying croak ability at will.

"...you can use your terrifying croak ability at will." Being the important part. It's still a standard action, but has a 1rnd recharge time... essentially.

Now, the Extra Croaking feat states:
Benefit: You gain one extra use of terrifying croak per hour. If your recharge time is less than 1 hour, you instead gain an extra use each time the ability recharges.

So... you see where this is going? Would this Boggard get to blast its Terrifying Croak 2/rnd with this combination? Asking for a friend...

I didn't post in the rules arena because I freaking hate that place. It's a 16HD frog person that worships a demon lord frog god... and Quicken Supernateral Ability doesn't exist. Lol.

PS. This would make Sonic Croak and Stunning Croak SO FREAKING AWESOME!!!

i don't see where it say he need to wait a round between croaks.

the beastery info say he can do it once an hour. the boon say it becomes at will so once per round. where did you get he need to wait a round between them?

the way i see it if he is a Boggard and got the croak ability and he get the 2nd boon he can now use it every round.(but not human with racial heritage since then he count as Boggard and can use his non existing croak at will)

What? No... not wait a round between croaks, I want to croak twice a round.

An "at will" ability that takes a standard action is a once per round ability.

Extra Croaking says you can croak twice per recharge... would that be twice per round with an at will ability?

On first quick inspection, only if you have two standard actions each round that you want to do that.

your mixing general and exception rules.

the extra croak is coming in to change the general croaking rules. don't bring the exception of some one god power that comes at level 16 into general rules.

- 1st rule is .croaking is once each hour.
- feat extra croaking make that into 2 times in an hour (or if you have something that make it less then an hour then 2 times in that period. like say an ability to get it recharged every 10 minutes)

- THEN comes the 16th level boon that say, you know that recharge time of an hour or what ever? forget about it. you can now do it at will. it doesn't say anything about taking a different action so it still take a standard action (and hey, if you CAN make 2 standard action in a round you CAN croak twice) what limit you now is how many standard actions you can make not any recharge timer.

think about it like a boggard croaking 'gun'.

- normal boggard get a 'standard issue boggard gun'. it takes a standard action to fire and a whole hour to reload.

- a boggard with extra croak can reload 2 bullets by the time a boggard with the same abilities minus the feat would load one (normal an hour, but if he's a fast reloader by some other ability then less).

- then the chosen of the boggard god at level 16 get a 'un\holy boggard croak gun' with unlimited bullets that doesn't need to reload. it still take the same action to fire it though - standard action.

I was hoping that since croaking is a standard action, regardless of which feats the Boggard may have or which deity the Boggard may worship, that being able to do it at will would effectively make that reload/recharge time into one round. And thus, Extra Croaking would allow an extra croak per round.

I was, absolutely, mixing general and exceptional rules. Guilty as charged. It was wishful thinking.

Gogunta's 2nd boon is powerful enough on its own. It just makes Extra Croaking completely useless, so that can be removed since it doesn't allow 2 croaks per round. Oh well.

you were just mixing the recharging duration with the activation action.

the normal croak ability talk about two things(among others), that the activation of the ability takes a standard action to use and that it take an hour to recharge each use.

the other two abilities only change the recharge time (one to double charges for the same time it would have taken one, the other to unlimited charges, seemingly with no need to charge a usage).

non of the other two change what action it take to use the ability.
