Starting July 1st the import tax laws in the EU changed. Previous minimums no longer apply, so each adventure path package goes through customs. This adds a heavy surcharge due to mail carriers or customs charging fixed rates in addition to the actual customs payment. For adventure paths this added cost is another ~60% on top of the subscription cost and shipping.
Apparently there is a new system which shops can use to avoid their customer's packages going through customs: IOSS. It would be great if Paizo could set up with this system to avoid these hefty surcharges for their EU customers.

Hello, Diego,
Is it possible to sticky this thread so that all EU subscribers can find it easily ?
Also, do you know when there will be an answer about this ? I had to pay approximately 50% of the product's price in new additional fees to get it.
If there is no way to pay the VAT directly through Paizo, I will need to cancel all my subscriptions before the next shipment.
Thanks a lot for your time and efforts.

Well... It's been more than 2.5 months now, and still no news on this topic.
I know that some people at Paizo have had many other urgent and important things to consider (not to mention many feelings to cope with), but it would be nice to have an update about whether or not those in charge have given the OP's suggestion some thought.
Thank you in advance for any information you can provide.

Being from Spain, I have suffered thid change and I have had to pay an additional amount of 80$ in taxes in the last 4 months, so I am considering to unsubscribe.
Great. I'm still waiting to even get any of the SoT issues to my home, so now I know what I have to look forward to.
It's like the people changing the rules weren't even aware of that their staff might not be able to stem the additional workload. but I'm also pretty sure they wouldn't have cared either way.

Thank you to the members of the Customer Service who answered above. I know that they are not the ones responsible for this kind of decision but they still endeavoured to answer and not simply ignore the question.
On the other hand, I cannot help but find it both quite disheartening and frustrating that not a single person in charge of sales could find the time and motivation to post an update about this topic in the last 3 months.
Are EU subscribers really that insignificant to Paizo?

We've heard our European customer's difficulties as outlined in this thread.
Currently, our tech department is working on infrastructure changes that will enable us to charge VAT for orders placed by European Union-based customers. This should help our consumers avoid the extra carrier and/or customs charges that may be added to your order. We are in the testing phase of the project and will update you when we've implemented the change.
