Starting July 1st the import tax laws in the EU changed. Previous minimums no longer apply, so each adventure path package goes through customs. This adds a heavy surcharge due to mail carriers or customs charging fixed rates in addition to the actual customs payment. For adventure paths this added cost is another ~60% on top of the subscription cost and shipping.
Apparently there is a new system which shops can use to avoid their customer's packages going through customs: IOSS. It would be great if Paizo could set up with this system to avoid these hefty surcharges for their EU customers.

The awarded XP should generally not be reduced if the PCs had outside help. So in this case they should get XP for all officers of side #1 and the officer from side #2. Then just sum up the XP for these foes and divide them by four and award each character that amount of XP.

You could, as GM, decide to spontaneously reduce awarded XP if the PCs steamrolled an encounter because of outside help. You could, for example, count each foe as one CR lower than they actually are for XP calculation.

You can choose to start with either the current or the upcoming issue when you subscribe to any subscription plan. So on October 1st you should have the choice between the two issues you mentioned.

The other way around: characters that perceive the haunt get to act during the surprise round. If they beat the initiative 10 of the haunt with their initiative roll they get to act before the haunt and they could try to disable it with positive energy or simply leave it's area. This requires them to realize it is a haunt, given only the clue after the perception DC. Anyone acting after the haunt can only deal with the aftereffects of the haunt (restraining fleeing friends or heal damage). Anyone affected by the haunt sees its effect.

Example:
The haunt says: Notice Perception DC 20 (to hear the sound of rattling chains) and it's description mentions it affects one room. So the party entering the room triggers the haunt. Everyone rolls perception (DC 20) and all who beat the DC hear the rattling chains. Then the party rolls initiative. Anyone who beat the perception DC and acts on initiative 10 or higher acts (reacting to the sound). Then the haunt's effect materializes: ghosts come out of the walls and fear everyone in the room. Everyone still in the room sees those ghosts and is subject to the fear effect. Now everyone who beat the perception DC but only had initiative 9 or lower acts. Meaning they start running in fear (they didn't save) or acting normally. In the next round everyone acts normally.
Remember that you only get a standard OR move action in the surprise round.

Hi,

I just looked at the Goblin entry in the Bestiary and I'm either missing something or there is a slight error:
The Goblin has short sword +1 and short bow +3, but i would say it's +2 and +4, respectively. Base Atk +1, small size +1 and the corresponding ability modifier (+0 and +2).

I'll buff the encounters midway between normal and your six player adventure. And see where i go from there.
I read about the more challenging encounters, i'll reduce the difficulty where it is too hard.

Hi, I'm going to be running this Adventure Path for our group starting sometime next month. We are using the Pathfinder rules with their higher player power and we also have 5 people playing heroes.

I already found the conversions of the encounters in the PRD, but some (the NPCs with class levels for instance) have a lower challenge rating. So I will be buffing those encounters back up to their intended CR, but should I make them even more challenging to account for the fifth player? Or is the AP difficult enough to challenge 5 Pathfinder characters?
