Access to Uncommon Character Options

Apologies if this is covered elsewhere, but I am looking for a definitive answer.I would like to make a fighter with the Aldori Duelist Archetype, but I seem to get different answers from players when meeting up for games, and the online "guide" to organized play is ever changing and not very clear.

How do we access "Uncommon" options for characters for PFS play? Is this by spending ACP for the "World Traveler" boon and applying it to a character? Can I simply make a character from the Broken Lands region /Brevoy and do this without a boon?

Sometimes it is by spending ACP. Sometimes it is from a boon. Sometimes it is by a choice made at character creation.

The Aldori Duelist is listed as Standard availability on the Character Options, so you can access is as long as you meet the requirements (it doesn't require a special boon). The Home Region, or World Traveler, would allow you to meet the requirements.

You select a home region for each character during character creation.

Home Region wrote:
This is also the stage at which you should choose your character’s home region (Core Rulebook 420-429), and in the case of human characters, your ethnicity. (Core Rulebook 430-431). Home regions fulfill access requirements and prerequisites for character options. See Rarity for more information.

World Traveler lets you add a different region access to your character if you want to mix concepts.

In general, start your search at the Character Options. If it's standard, then look for the way necessary to meet the requirements/prerequisites.

Aldori Duelist is Standard Availability, as listed on the Character Options page. That means 2 things. 1, it is Uncommon. 2, if you are from the Broken Lands you have Access.

Every character has an initial Home Region without buying a boon. If you are from the Broken Lands, and your selected home region matches this, you have no other access requirements to meet.
