Odd title, I know. Basically I'm asking about mechanics in one area of the genre that youd like to see applied in other parts.
For me, its stances. Martial stances are cool. Magical stances (or similar) would be cool too. Perhaps once that gives a +1 to hit at the cost of something else (maybe spell DC and vice versa)
Odd thought, I know. But interesting tip think about

While I don't think it's a terrible idea to see parts of the game dipping into other aspects, I wouldn't want the original class/aspect to lose that sort of ownership. Wizards, for example, getting monk-like stances feels, to me, like a weakening of the monk's identity.
However, if there was something like a dedication of a "mystic artist" that gave a wizard a stance that allowed them to enhance their unarmed strikes through magical means ("This stance causes my body to crackle with electricity, so they give clumsy 1 on successful Strikes" or something), then that feels like a more positive direction, to me.

Monks aren't the only ones that get stances, fighters, swashbucklers, rangers and I'm sure others do as well. It's a martial mechanic that I think could indeed help casters. A stance is just a very specific way of doing something, so having casters learn such things in colleges and such makes a lot of sense. It could open up a lot of avenues to make casters feel more enjoyable for some people.
Having more spell like abilities on all classes would be nice, a one action or reaction press ability to recast the same spell again with less effect could be interesting, anything that's casters doing magic without spending more slots. Focus powers for everyone. Maybe some martial concentration abilities?
