As the title asks, what class(es) do you think these characters would be?
Here's my take:
Templar - Champion or Cleric/Warpriest
Duelist - Fighter probably, maybe melee Ranger
Marauder - Barbarian
Ranger - Ranger, maybe Rogue with thief racket
Shadow - Rogue, probably arcane trickster or thief racket
Witch - Witch(obviously), Wizard, or Sorcerer
Scion - Always imagined this one as either a Rogue or Sorcerer, maybe a Bard
Anyway, I really like the setting and general theme of PoE, with it's dark, gritty, grim setting and the background of a dangerous, untamed, corrupted, and ruined world. I've been thinking about a homebrew adventure set in Wraeclast. Just have to convince the prospective players to run a human only party...

Honestly, the classes for PoE don't map terribly well.
PoE classes are extremely different. You select one skill that fits your ability score attributes to spam (but literally every character regardless of class can use if they meet the ability score requirements [which are also dependent on the level of the skill]).
There's not enough variation within pathfinder classes to represent the multitude of playstyles that are available to classes in PoE.
That said, I think you could just run a game set in Wraeclast using Pathfinder rules and have a gritty grim dark setting and it would all work just fine.
You just can't map the classes from one to other except very loosely in a broad way.

Honestly I don't think you could fit the PoE classes or even ascendancies into a single class as they are all versatile by design. The marauder could be a barbarian or fighter or even champion with a heavy defensive set up but then you also have a totem spamming chieftain build or RF Jugg. Deadeye Rangers sling projectile spells basically as well as bow attacks while pathfinder is used for everything for its flask abuse.
If you are looking for PoE based tabletop gaming, some of the streamers put together a PoE tabletop system and streamed it a few years ago. You see them play it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qnd16AlDT6s.

When doing this kind of conversion, it is best to look at the "final" build, see what it can do and compare it and try to replicate it in Pathfinder.
Some things don't translate well or at all in PF2E, you can't build a dodge tank or a minion master for example.
Combat in PF2E slows down to much with more than 4 enemies so those encounters tend to be rare so crowd control is different than massive AoEs . You can still do AoEs, but the feel would be different.
At the end, you would have to see which mechanic or flavor you would want to Port.
Humbly,
Yawar

Hi All. I appreciate the responses. I was thinking more of a thematic angle, rather than a literal translation of PoE classes/builds to PF2.
Unless a GM started using re-skinned swarm creatures for the majority of the opponents, I don't think it would be at all possible to even try to capture the scope of a typical PoE encounter.

Thanks! That's cool, I didn't realize a PnP version had already been put together by some PoE players. I'll have to watch this when I get the time.
