How long do dragons live?

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

I know DnD had a chart saying how long each age category was (great wyrm was 1200+, but I think dragons could potentially live up to twice that.) Is there anything in Pathfinder like this?

Not as far as I know, but theoretically a dragon could life 'forever'.

By their eldest age they are effective 20th Level Spellcasters which opens up all kinds of methods to beat death back with (becoming a Draco-lich is only one of them). Most Dragons live until they either get tired of Life, or are killed.

The wiseass answer to your question therefore is:
"Until they meet the Party."

Less than a day. They die and their body disintegrates each night, then a piece of their hoard spawns a new dragon with dawn's light. This is why it's so important to loot dragon hoards - it doesn't respawn if others have taken ownership.

Hardly any creatures have information related to how long they can live. Dragons have quite a bit of info on age categories because a game named Dungeons and Dragons wants to make Dragons a fairly common monster that you can fight at multiple levels, in different dungeons.

Maximum age and dying of old age isn't something in the design specs for such a creature. The design spec is that dragons get more powerful with age. Especially since quite a bit of the mythology around dragons presents them as near-god like beings and almost always ancient.

the 3.5 draconomicon had a dragon's max age as a function of 1200 + (cha mod at great wyrm x 200 years).
