Roll20 free scenario and PFS.

Pathfinder Society #1-15: The Blooming Catastrophe is free on Roll20 right now. Can I run it and report in PFS, without buying the PDF?
Where can I find chronicle sheets in that case?

I did the "Paizo Connect" thing on roll20. Didn't get the PDF (or may be I'm just looking in the wrong way). I think, I do not actually "own" this module on roll20, coz it's free. I made a new game with this module in roll20 etc.

The roll20 module seems to have been made free for Paizocon but I don't know how you would actually run it without the PDF.

Even the best laid out roll20 table is going to require you to get the scenario to run it.

To be PFS legal or just to "run"?

Roll20 module contains 100% of PDF text (except chronicles, as I mention). It's all in the right order etc, I definitely can run it without PDF.

The requirement to own the scenario is part of the what is required to report a legal PFS table. I guess if you are not planning to report than fine.

But you can't run a Roll20 Table without the PDF, at least not as the adventure was written. The DCs are in the PDF.

That being said, Paizo is a business. They employee a lot of talented people to provide content for us to enjoy.

So cough up the small money to get the PDF and support the company.

EDIT: missed a word.

If it is free, I can own it for free. The UI of Roll20, that does not consider free staff ass "your staff" does not apply to the question directly.

You mean "without"?

All DCs are in Roll20. For both subtiers etc etc. You can check it with less then 10 clicks.

Last I heard the chronicle sheets were not in the roll20 products, is that still true?

Yes, I meant "without". I have corrected my post. Thanks for pointing it out.

Didn't realize the DCs are on the Roll20 table. I didn't add them to my table but I was making the table for myself and not for a broader distribution.

I guess it is a gray area. I still think we need to support the company.

I went over the module and it seems to include everything the PDF has, including information on filling the chronicle sheet - except for the chronicle sheet itself.

To my knowledge, "owning the PDF of a scenario" has never been a requirement for running&reporting a game, and nothing saying this appears in either 1st edition nor 2e society guide. Indeed, part of VO's tasks is to encourage local game stores to register on paizo's page as retailers: One of the perks is that the store gains access to the scenarios as they are released, and can then have other volunteers/GMs run the scenarios in their gaming space - in which case you obviously don't own the scenario.
(If "owning the PDF" was a requirement, the reporting page could easily list just the games you own, instead all of the available scenarios)

It's hard to say if the lack of chronicle sheet is intentional or accidental. On one hand, maybe the purpose was to offer the "roll20 set up" for free, not the "entire scenario". On the other hand, it's weird that it literally includes everything else except the chronicle sheet, which makes it seem like the intention was to give out the scenario on roll20 for free. Hard to say.

(Clarification: Obviously, someone needs to own the scenario so that you can run it - Just saying it doesn't need to be the GM, specifically. It could be that you wanted to play the scenario "Adventures in Absalom" so you bought it, downloaded it, printed it out, and lended the print out to your friend asked him to GM it for you. Do note that this is probably only okay with physical copies - sending a copy of a PDF to a friend very likely goes against paizo's copyrights.)
