So I was running an adventure set in Razmiran and had two thoughts.
First, makes me think of the Soviet Union under Stalin.
Second, and perhaps funniest, what if Razmir has been dead for years. And like all the inner circles are perpetuating a ruse. I mean everyone wears masks so on they off chance they need him to appear they just find someone the right size. Then kill them so the secret doesn’t get out.

I don't really see the parallel myself, honestly. IMHO, a better comparison would be real world places where the ruler was thought of as a deity. But even that's kind of different.
The idea of Razmir actually being dead is interesting though. I doubt they'll make it canon, but that would be fun to do in a homebrew campaign.

He is the quintessential cult of personality autocrat. There's been enough of those to pick whichever one you want as inspiration.
Razmir being dead is a possibility, if an unlikely one. Although we don't know how he's doing these days, he was alive and reasonably well before the the 2E update. I am curious to see where he is going : the old man was worried, if not obsessed about his mortality ten years ago, and that usually does not get better. Will his new neighbours tempt him towards lichdom ? Is he just too attached to life and if so did he ever finally get himself some sun orchid elixir ? What other options is he looking at?
Also, how long until a lieutenant of his gets ideas about how and when the succession should happen and the skills to try something ?

It would be funny if he died (of a heart attack, it was all those fatted goose livers that done him in...) and *nobody* in his heirarchy actually knew it, because Sivanah, demigoddess of trickery, who has been hinted as to having been patronizing his rule, stepped up and replaced him.
She's on Golarion, ruling a country (flipping the bird to all those other gods with their noninvention pact nonsense), pretending to be a mortal pretending to be a god, because she thinks that's *hilarious.*

Razmir and Razmiran are labeled as being Lawful Evil, whereas I would say that the Soviet Union was more Neutral Evil, with swings to either side (more towards Chaotic Evil under Stalin, and more towards Lawful Evil under some of the less charismatic leaders). On the other hand, Goblins are labeled as Neutral Evil, while being described as pretty Chaotic Evil, so maybe it's a problem of alignment offset.
As to the prospect that Razmir is dead -- it could be that his inner circle is maintaining the masquerade while they try to figure out how to clone him from his nose.

On the other hand, Goblins are labeled as Neutral Evil, while being described as pretty Chaotic Evil, so maybe it's a problem of alignment offset.
This was basically a legacy issue since they were NE in 3.5. In PF2 they have corrected this and Bestiary goblins are now listed as CE, as is appropriate.
Razmir doesn't have the legacy issue so their Alignment listing is probably accurate.

I always thought Razmiran was more like North Korea, as, at least in Kim Jong-Il's case some of the people thought he was a god, or at least had supernatural powers. I also asked on another thread what would happen if Razmir died of old age and someone suggested what you said (a new "Razmir" would be secretly chosen somehow.)

Razmir and Razmiran are very interesting, and have a lot of potential for modules or adventure paths.
I would compare Razmiran to the Medieval Papal States since it is a relatively small country, the Church of Razmir is all over the Inner Sea Region, and the leader of the faith is a sovereign ruler.
I find it unlikely that Razmir himself is dead, but if he did die his priests would likely just select a replacement. Or they could claim Razmir "ascended" and select a High Priest to rule in his name. His death may even propel Razmir to true divinity. There are a lot of ways it could go.
