Even better news today - Owlcat are officially adding an (entirely optionak) turn-based mode! Taking inspiration from the extremely popular TBS mod for Kingmaker.
KM was such a good adaption of PF1 (by far the best adaption of a D&D game thus far) that the turn-based mod basically needed to do compatively little work[1] to unpack what was basically simulaneously-running turns back to TBS. Which means that in terms of the concern of time taken away for encounter balance... There isn't any, since it doesn't need balancing for TBS specifically. So, basically everyone can be satisfied!
(Sadly, I did see at least one gentleman in the announcement comments that cancelled their pledge out of outrage, which one feels was a bit on an overreaction, considering.)
[1]"Compartively" not "objectively" little, I by no means denigrate the substantial effort of Hysinu's exceptional work. Compartive to say, Pillars of Eternity 2, which, being design as inherently RTwP (i.e., everything in seconds, not rounds) which required more fundemental work.

I am in of course.
I had trouble getting into Kingmaker initially, but now I am a huge fan.
It's so deeply satisfying as a game on so many levels... it provides the customization required by most 1E fans, both in character and kingdom building design, yet provides an experience common enough to different players so that they can share experiences and compare notes. Brilliantly designed. And the fact that it's very heavy on Golarion lore is a bonus, a very big bonus, that keeps me interested and coming back to the game.

I'll add that Paizo really hit the jackpot with the Owlcat team. The Owlcat folks are a bunch of individual geniuses in their respective fields that somehow enjoy each other's company and share a common love and passion for Pathfinder. It really shows in the end product. The game is oozing with love and passion.
Now someone has to design a Love Ooze monster.

Thankfully you do not need to delve so deeply into customization. This is really something from Nerds for Nerds. But they provide Autoleveling choices that are not horrible for verybody.
And I can only repeat that the Owlcats seem to be the perfect mix of professoinals and Gamer Geeks - running the Tabletop Campaings in parallel with their work, absolutely awesome.
One of their recent updates was how even their Quality Assurance Tools have Golarion names :) Clockwork, Arbiter, Aeon and Scrivenite are some of their testing routines.

Well my question is mostly can I still paladin the hell out of this...
And you know, kick Deskari's butt...
You could double down and paladin the hell out of this (which is slightly weird when the threat is the Abyss) and also choose the Angel mythic path. Not clear how much that would supplement vs. be redundant with a paladin though. Guessing they made sure the mythic abilities don't just copy class ones though.

Its been pretty fun so far! The Party Members are actually pretty competently built this time around and depending on your MC build might be carrying YOU through the tutorial. They also added camera rotation and the turn based mode from the getgo.
Now all I really want is a good config mod so I can give myself Elephant in the Room feat taxes.
