For official Paizo modules on Roll20, how would the CUP work in regard to the various graphics (maps, NPC art, etc.) for a video campaign journal?
Would a video campaign journal of a Roll20 module simply not be allowed?
Thanks
That's a question I have as well. I was thinking about streaming my next campaign and was wondering if
A: I can use purchased modules on roll20
B: use extracted maps/graphics from a legally purchased PDF
The way its worded, you can only descriptively reference anything. The CUP seems to shut down any visual representation of the game, live plays/twitch streams etc, except for the big podcasts who have deals to be allowed to do it.

From how it's worded, I've also been trying my best to err on the side of caution, and have no visuals whatsoever from the books for my Twitch stream. Not even for tokens.
If I'm wrong, I would be very relieved and excited.
Yeah it's an interesting gray area. I assume community made maps are 100% free range, as they are derivative works not owned (I dont think) by Paizo. But again - extractions from PDF's or owned virtual tabletop pre-made modules (roll20, fantasy grounds pf modules etc) unsure if that falls under "visual journal" or w/e
As worded it basically inhibits anybody who didn't get in on it before live plays blew up (Glass Cannon Podcast etc) from streaming anything. Hopefully an official response soon.

We are currently working on updating the CUP to accommodate livestreams and archived records of digital games in light of the influx of such content over the last few years. I'll check and see how much of that is nailed down at the moment and try to update this thread with what I can so you don't have to wait until the official update goes live.
