Versatile Performance + Scare to Death

Advice

So assuming you had versatile Performance feat, the scare the death feat and legendary performance would you be able to use your legendary performance for the scare to death action. I assume not but wanted to check.

I was thinking about it for a bard (level 1 pointlessly thinking ahead) but given I plan to invest most of my skills and Feats in social skills does versatile perfomance have much value?

Since Scare to Death is its own action rather than a modifier on the Demoralize action, I would say no by RAW. Versatile Performance would let you select the feat, but not use Performance in place of the Intimidation check.

Edit: Intimidating Glare, the demoralize half of Intimidating Prowess, Battle Cry and Terrified Retreat should all work however.

I agree with you that versatile performance doesn’t allow performance with Scare to Death, but all the others you listed also don’t work for the same reason. They all modify demoralize checks, not intimidation, and Scare to Death is a special action for intimidation, not demoralize.

I believe they are talking about versatile performance working on them BECAUSE they make or modify demorilize checks.

I read this four times before I understood what both of you probably meant. Versatile Performance works on Intimidating Glare, the demoralize half of Intimidating Prowess, Battle Cry and Terrified Retreat, but not Scare to Death. My bad. I misunderstood pronoun use.
