Medium-sized Leshy?

Homebrew and House Rules

A player in our campaign wants to have a Swamp Thing looking Leshy.

He's playing a Cleric Vine Leshy and wants to change the character from small to medium size.

Would there be any significant mechanical problems that the GM should be aware of if he allowed the size change?

We're 1st level and playing through Hellknight Hill if that's relevant.

I don't think there are a lot of size-dependent things. There's riding, as well as combat maneuvers (you can only trip something 2 size categories bigger than you). That being said, it might help with their specific build (if they'd like to trip, particularly with reach?), but at the same time, it's unlikely to be game-breaking.

I can't imagine it being a problem.

As a GM I'd probably have more problem with a Leshy that wasn't focused on defending the environment more than an "odd-Ball" medium leshy.

I would probably say that they can't take the harmlessly cute feat, as it both references that your small size is part of what makes people not think you are a threat, and relies on not looking like the swamp thing, who is not very cute at all.

Thanks, everyone. This is great news – Swamp Thing has arrived and he is harmfully uncute.

Sounds like a good opportunity to homebrew a new Leshy Heritage.
