Advice

Ever since I found the animal instinct feat animal skin I've had this image of a tall broad buff bearded half elf with long hair and a flat nose taking his arms out of his gi top and letting it fall to the side as he begins to transform into some kind of bestial wereshark.

But what kind of person would this be? In making the character I've selected feats based on how I imagine the character. A half elf cursed in some unknown way to have an affinity and uncontrollable rage transformation into a monster.

A person who struggles to control his inner animal but never gives up. Who trains whenever he can to further his bodies resilience and his minds discipline. He endeavors to make his curse his strength.

Human half elf barbarian. Shark instinct.

Skills are acrobatics, Athletics, intimidation, survival and nature

He wears medium armor until 6th level where he picks up animal skin.

Biggest weakness of the build seems to be how animal skin requires you to be raging so when not raging my AC is going to be low.

He also wears a shield and has javelins when not raging.

How would you build this character if you started with a monk base?

Monk don't have Greater Juggernaut so the Animal Skin is not worthy for them, but I think that I would do...

Ki Strike
Barbarian Dedication
Flurry of Maneuvers
Instinct Ability
Whirlwind Throw
Raging Intimidation
Free
Free
Animal Rage

Stats
14Str/18Dex/14Con/10/12Wis/10

Reason for the stat spread? If I'm reading the barbarian shark instinct correct it has neither agile nor finesse traits.

Animal rage will turn you into a shark. So if your not in the water. Your suffocating.

Honestly, I wouldn't worry about wondering about a monk-primary build, since your character feels like a pretty solid story that could be told by a shark-instinct barbarian.

True enough.
