They’re jumping spiderfolk who were pretty obscure in 1e, for the uninitiated, with a land in southern Garund and the ability to illusorily disguise themselves as human among outsiders. What’s interesting is that even in these early days of 2e, they’re getting a lot of love: they show up in the first volume of Age of Ashes, they’re mentioned a few times in the Mwangi Expanse section in the World Guide (as being seen in Nantambu and with their nation allied with new Vidrian), and the recent stream said their goddess would be in Gods & Magic.

They might just be a developer’s favorite, but I’m really hoping we see them as an Ancestry soon.

I believe they were a Crystal Frasier project that she slow played, and it may have picked up advocates over time.

I am 100% for "cuddly spider people" as a playable ancestry.

They were something I started seeding into the game back in Inner Sea World Guide and have been wanting to explore for years. Distant Shores would be the first place we could start looking at them, and Crystal and others have been amazing in how they've begun to develop them. I wanted them to be a part of Age of Ashes from the start, since that AP was going to be seen by MANY more people than normal as a result of that being the first 2nd edition Adventure Path. The original intent was to include an ancestry for them in "Hellknight Hill" but when ancestry format expanded to a 4 to 6 page footprint we had to abandon that idea before we even started writing it due to space constraints.

At some point though, yes, I do hope to have an ancestry for them to be in print.

Sounds like something for the inevitable Southern Garund Campaign Guide!

Make one become afflicted with entothropy and they'd be a Spider-Man-Spider.

Give one class levels in Vigilante (wildsoul) and you get a Spider-Man-Spider-Man.
