Nocticula!

Advice

I'm really hyped to play a follower of Nocticula as Redeemer Queen! I'm still waiting on my book, and I'm pretty sure she's not in the major deities list, but to those who've gotten the book: how do you think this 'Liberator' champion would fit Golarion's new deity?

Hey Bramble,

I believe the Redeemer Queen is a Chaotic Neutral deity, yes? The new Lost Omen setting has far more strict guidelines for who the gods accept as followers of their faith. The system is no longer being within one step of your god's alignment, as much as each deity has a specific list of alignments they accept for divine followers.

At the moment we have no official information on Nocticula as far as I can see, so it will be up to your gamemaster to homebrew something until then. They have to make the call if Nocticula accepts Chaotic Good worshippers.

From what I remember of her, I can easily see her being open to a liberator champion being in her service. If you're okay with coming up with some material for your favorite goddess with your GM, I strongly encourage you to do so and explore the new champion!

Cheers!

I have the book now, and there is no Nocticula in the list of gods. But most gods accept someone 1 step off their own. Calistria is Chaotic Neutral, and she takes CG, CN, and CE worshippers. Gorum is CN too, and he only takes CN and CE.

I think the new Gods book is scheduled for January?

Liberty's Edge

Given her portfolio and described interests, I'm sure Nocticula accepts CG followers these days.

I feel like James Jacobs said in one thread or another that he saw her accepting CG and not accepting CE given her current focus.

Based on her writeup in Tyrant's Grasp, I would expect her allowed alignments to be CG and CN for sure, and maybe TN but maybe not. Definitely not CE; it's explicitly called out that her former followers are left with the choice of "get a different alignment" or "worship someone else".

As a special preview for the gods book, which is several months out still but will have more info on Nocticula... her allowed alignments for clerics are Chaotic Neutral, Chaotic Good, and Neutral.

Also I just realized that means you definitely can be a Liberator of Nocticula and I am so down with that. :D

...Although it is slightly unfortunate that the "Redeemer Queen" can't have Redeemers. I might house rule that Liberators of Nocticula are allowed to trade their reaction for the Redeemer reaction.

So it sounds like the OP's idea would be a perfect fit given the input from everyone's favorite T-Rex....

Liberators are a GREAT class to play for worshipers of Nocticula.

Perhaps, but that's sort of just pedantic.

The point of the redeemer being the neutral good option is that they mesh well with Sarenrae, who's all about redemption, even more so than Nocticula.

You don't have to be a redeemer to redeem someone.

WHOOO! This sounds promising! I'll have to pitch it to my GM, but this has me even more hyped for my book. (Damn having to order internationally due to kooky circumstances!) Thanks guys!
