Sandstorm Wrath vs Fire Resistance

A character with Fire 30 resistance is attacked by a Mummy Lord's Sandstorm Wrath, which does fire and slashing damage, will the fire resistance protect the character?

Sandstorm Wrath (Su)

Three times per day as a standard action, a mummy lord can exhale a blast of superheated sand in a 40-foot cone. The blast deals 2d8 points of fire and slashing damage for every 3 Hit Dice a mummy lord possesses. A successful Reflex save halves this damage.

Creatures that fail this save are blinded for 2d4 rounds.

It would only partially protect the character. Since the damage is both fire and slashing, half of the damage is fire and the other half is slashing and the character would still need to make the save or take slashing damage.

Fire resistance alone will not stop this.

DR of Silver and Good is not bypassed by just Silver. You also need Good.
DR of Silver or Good can be bypassed by Silver alone.
You will need Fire Resistance AND slashing resistance to stop this.
If you had hardness, Stoneskin, or another way to mitigate slashing damage at the same time, then you could resist the amount of damage both halves fully stop. [I.e Resist Fire 30 and Stoneskin (10) would stop 10 of the wrath.]
