With so many Vlaka being born blind or deaf, it is quite possible that they regard those who can see and hear as having extra abilities, not those who are blind or deaf as lacking something.
What does seem to be lacking is any sort of common baseline. Are Vlaka who are both blind and deaf common but unsuited to the adventuring life, or does every Vlaka have some sense that many others of his kind lack?

Please keep the thread on subject and let's not make sweeping generalizations about other folks. Even if you do not understand someone else's choices, you can still be respectful and kind. There are plenty of online resources that detail out the many reasons that folks may avoid specific types of intervention if you wish to understand more.

Coming from the not seeing well side of things, I can tell you for certain that despite my vision being totally borked and have other issues on top of it, I wouldn't fix it for anything. I was actually offered the chance to take part in a test of an experimental device that could help my eyes, I declined, and the reason I declined is that I've gone so long not having the ability to see clearly that losing that wouldn't be fixing anything for me, it'd be taking away part of myself.
Yes, and you, as a ( presumptive ) adult have it perfectly within your right to make an informed decision about medical procedures.
The issue is not adults declining medical treatment. The issue is parents refusing to provide all necessary medical care for their children, who are too young to provide informed consent. The personal beliefs of parents are not a valid reason for denying their children proper medical care, and that includes treatment for treatable genetic conditions.

I love the idea of a Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy style adventure path.
As for the Zo! AP, let me clarify that I think it would be really interesting to do a 'Halls of the Living' AP where your team is competing against other teams for fame and glory in Eox's reality TV programs. I think it could at most go only 3 parts, and I would love for it to include material for promotional tours, behind the scenes machinations and Eoxian politics as well as diving back in for rematch.

My personal campaign is a Shadowrun-inspired Eoxian reality show where the PCs have to complete their secret objectives while avoiding the camera and making sure they put on a good show. The PCs are a korasha lashunta soldier, a space goblin operative, a halfling envoy, and a ysoki mechanic, which is great because nobody is taller than the human NPC star of the show...

My wish list:
1. A Alien/Monster/NPC codex.
2. The Sarfinder equivalent of the Inner Sea Gods book with new information and art about the Starfinder Deities. A bunch of classic and new outsiders for the PC to fight would be nice as well.
3. Starfinder Modules

I don't think my list has changed (though, the generic monsters in AA2 took away half my reason for wanting a beastiary and dropped it down on my list)...
1. Veskarium/Near Space source book a la Pact Worlds
2. Magic of the Pact Words source book with new spells, feats, magic items, archetypes, and class features a la armory but specifically related to magic/magitech.
3. Azlanti Star Empire/Vast source book a la Pact Worlds.
4. 'Advanced Players Guide' with new classes, class features, archetypes, feats, generic themes.
5. Ships of the Galaxy source book with new ships, ship parts, expanded starship combat rules, class features, feats, starship monsters, et al a la armory but specifically related to starships.
6. A full 300+ page bestiary with all the PF iconic monsters and new aliens (but no PC races).

I want a Veskarium-based space barbarian class.
Or star gladiator.
One themed class per solar system sounds reasonable.
Gladiator is already a theme, though... seems that you should be able to make a gladiator out of any class, really.
I think a dedicated rage-based Soldier fighting style would be good for a barbarian-equivalent. Maybe an archetype.
Not sure why it would be Veskarium-based, though; the Vesk are more aligned with the Roman Empire than the barbarian hordes.

I think we should produce the Ultimate Gap coloring book!
It's an educational children's coloring book filled with busts of important historical key figures of the pact worlds with empty heads so you fill in their thoughts.
.....OH look it's Aleksana Guryari!
......let's get inside that android's head and see what they saw on the first known travel through the drift!

when rome was awesomest (late roman decadence ftw) it hired LOTS of German tribesmen (barbarians) to do its fighting for it.
might be something which the vesk do as well.
