I just got a promotional e-mail for the https://www.drivethrurpg.com/m/product/247882.
Not only does Paizo’s game feature ‘wayfinders’ as objects and have a fan-produced magazine called Wayfinder, but Wayfinder is very close to Pathfinder as a name.
I don’t see how this could be an accident and, with D&D as most people’s first game, I could imagine players coming to WotC ‘Wayfinder’ content before they discover PF.
Paizo have always seemed very positive and friendly toward the d&d team. This is... surprising?

At WotC offices:
Intern: HEY GUYS I HAVE THIS REALLY IMPORTANT THING TO TELL YOU!
Manager: 'sup, kiddo?
Intern: WAYFINDERS! PAIZO! NAMES SO CLOSE! LEGAL DANGER!
Manager: Kid, what is Hasbro's legal budget?
Intern: INFINITE AND GLORIOUS?
Manager: What do you reckon Paizo's legal budget is?
Intern: NOT?
Manager: There you go. Grab me some coffee and a sandwich on your way out will ya?

The Wayfinder Foundation has been part of Eberron since the publication of the original Eberron campaign setting hardcover in 2004, long before Pathfinder was a thing as a game, or even a product line. According to that book, it is
[...] a guild for adventurers and explorers that funds dangerous expeditions to exotic locales, as well as giving bold adventurers a place to display their trophies and tell tall tales. The Wayfinder Foundation is an exclusive organization. Membership is by invitation only [...]. The Wayfinder Conclave manages the affairs of the Foundation. [...]
Of course, many of the members of the Foundation are more interested in personal wealth or glory than in increasing the reputation of the Wayfinders or pursuing scholarly exploration. The Wayfinder Foundation is very much an alliance of individuals, and each Wayfinder has a distinctive personality.
Does that sound familiar? If anything, it is possible that, conscious or not, the Pathfinder Society after which our game is named was actually inspired by this.

Please bear in mind, both "wayfinder" and "pathfinder" are real world terms that exist outside of two companies and their product, as much as they might sound like typical fantasy noun-verbing. I can't count the number of times I've searched for something related to Pathfinder and gotten the same image of that SUV or that one movie.

Ah, cool, did not know that.
Makes sense. Cheers.

Can anyone guess why, when I tap that link to another website site, my browser (Safari mobile) goes to my Paizo shopping cart?

The bit between the tabs (the part you can copy/paste) is a link to drivethrurpg.com; however, what's plugged into the url in the BBCode actually reads "https://paizo.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/Store.woa/wa/DirectAction/Wayfarer's Guide to Eberron". In short, the link as inserted in the BBCode is incorrect.
There is/has been a known bug in the boards that inserts a paizo.com address ahead of a non-secure link. Can't remember if it's been fixed yet or not.
