Grappling with a Ring of Free movement on...

If you wanted to grapple someone else while wearing the ring... wtf happens? Does the "All (ALL) combat maneuver checks made (maneuvers by anyone) to grapple (apply the grapple condition) the target (to the ring wearer) automatically fail (don't work)" apply to grapple attempts you make since they give you the grappled condition too?

Unusual question, I know. But if someone else can't give you the grappled condition, why can you give it to yourself? SELFHUGS! Does the object of the attack get grappled and the ring wearer not get the condition? How's it work if so?

I'm not sure, but I think if you are wearing a Ring of Freedom of Movement, you cannot put the Grappled Condition upon yourself, not even by Grappling others. There are ways of Grappling others without putting the condition on yourself: Grab Ability, White Hair, Spells like Web, etc.

When the wearer makes a grapple check, they are not "making a grapple check against the [wearer of the ring]". The check is unaffected by the spell, you enter the grapple and gain the grappled condition.

Freedom of movement doesn't necessarily give you immunity to the grappled condition. It means exactly what it says - any attempt to grapple the wearer fails. It doesn't give you any immunity to the consequences if you choose to engage a grapple.

You can still gain the grapple condition if you successfully grapple someone.

It does however make you immune to any attempt to counter grapple made to do anything but escape, so grapples are still extremely one sided in your favour.

Exactly what dragonhunterq said. You can gain the grappled condition so long as it isn't via some method that requires a grapple check against you nor some external force hindering your movement.
