Wordstrike (Su): At 3rd level, the sound striker bard can spend 1 round of bardic performance as a standard action to direct a burst of sonically charged words at a creature or object. This performance deals 1d4 points of damage plus the bard's level to an object, or half this damage to a living creature.
how does this effect affect a zombie?
What about an incorporeal undead?

Wow, that ability is pretty unclear. Zombies are creatures, so clearly you can use this ability on them. But it only gives descriptions of effects it would have on living creatures and objects. By omission that is definitely implying that it has no effect on non-living creatures, despite them being a valid target for the ability.
As VRMH said I guess it does nothing to non-living creatures, but you can still use it on them if you want to waste an action (or determine whether they are alive or not)

I'm in the same gaming group as OP...
we ended up simply deleting the word 'living' from the ability so it does half damage to creatures. the ability itself is not crazy powerful to begin with so we didn't see it as a problem to do like 10 damage a turn to creatures.
we're level 15 now so we're fighting things that treat this as a flea bite.
