Liking the new site

Website Feedback

I like how everything is up to date and you could maneuver around on the new site. There are some quibbles I have about it, like I can't access my downloadable content. But so far it works nicely.

Downloadable content can be found in myaccount (top of screen, right side ish). Second entry down (Digital content)

I just miss the part on the left where it has the 'recent updates' in the forums.

It made it easier to get around to what people were talking about/track what you were doing. Such the pity.

I liked the old color scheme :(

Overall though, I'm liking the new site too. My one problem is, it's really hard to tell what's a link and what isn't. I can usually tell the difference, since I've been around the site before, but someone who's new would likely be confused.

And Aliases aren't different colors from main profiles now, which is OK I guess but will take some getting used to.

I dont mind the change, but yeah this.

I must be doing something wrong... I can't find the Off-topic forums except by going through one of my posts there. Is this intentional? Also, the (x new) markers are gone?

Like the Maelstrom, the new Paizo site will take a moment to acclimate to. But it looks much slicker and modern.

Maybe so. But if I can't easily navigate to Gamer Life, can't see if there are new posts, can't see links, have to see too small text that formats poorly off a mobile phone, the net change is a pretty huge minus. To me.

The Gamer Life ommission is one of the things they know about that isn't working properly. I'm pretty sure the little (x new) identifier, bold/faded distinction between threads you've opened and threads you haven't and the indistinguishability of links are also all bugs rather than changes.

It's likely going to take a couple of weeks to nail all this stuff down, I suspect. (I haven't heard any official Paizo talk about the missing sidebar, but that's sounding increasingly like something many users utilised a lot that the web team didn't know. Presumably it's possible to retrofit that or a similar feature).

I believe the bug reports/comments are mainly being done in this thread:

This is a link

Looks like there's a larger and more active thread on the topic of the new site over on website feedback. They're talking about stuff they still need to fix and people are talking.

That's a link, in case it's hard to tell.

EDIT

Ninja'd by mere seconds.

Great minds. :)

Yeah. Benefit of the doubt and all that. However, there is to my knowledge nowhere stated that any of these are bugs and not changes. I would be happy to be proven wrong. Other companies have axed their forums.

I'll reserve judgement and give them time.

You are a discerning person.

that the newly posted in threads is on their radar (whether that’s a return of the sidebar or some new solution isn’t clear to me). There have been other comments by Erik Keith, Vic Wertz. Unfortunately the conversation is scattered about a bit. As I understand it though, it was always going to be a “staggered” rollout, so as you say, we’ll need to reserve judgement until it’s fully complete (and then tidied).

I don't like it, I can't really see myself using your website much longer if this is how it's going to look.

How about... be specific.

I'm compiling a list of what I don't like, to see if I adjust since some things are just preference, and some things are functionality. I'd think that'd be most helpful.

Good point!

1. Lack of color.
2. Font is too small.
3. Everything else is too small.
4. The random pictures when you go to Paizo.com/pathfinder are gone.
5. The blue colors combined with the small font makes it look like a government or cable company website, I shouldn't have the urge to renew my fishing license or pay my cable bill when I come here.
6. It no longer tells me when I have a PM.

What I like.

1. Where to buy menu, I've already found an undiscovered game store not too far away, so kudos there!

I'm sure I'll find more.

Loving the new site. I am glad to see you all investing in updating this as it sorely needed it. Only minor complaint is its taking a bit to get used to navigating to my old haunts but im sure ill get used to it.

Already used to the new site. Until the new message indicator has been implemented, I'll just check my inbox several times a day.

100% this.

VC sent me google mail reminder that the PACG Outpost PBP was starting, or I would have missed it.

Please please implement a New Message indicator ASAP!!!
