Aether Architect

Rules Questions

Got several questions about this..

1) Is it see through?
1a) if yes, Can you paint it?
1b) if no, can you make it look like a particular material?
2) If you make a statue of a rabbit out of it and a disintegrate spell hits a whisker does the entire structure just pop out of existence or does it just damage the whisker?
3) Can it make things like doors, chains and the like that would be used as part of the building?
3a) if no, can you attach real stuff in there then?

1) The description says it is shiny/sparkly (scintillating) but does not mention opacity. I would say it looks like floating glitter, if pressed.
1a) I don't see why not. The spell gives no indication of texture, and if your being forced to determine how well your paint adheres to your 9th level indefinite force effect, someone is playing the game wrong.
1b) Probably not.
2) Yes, unless parts of the wabbit statue extends further than 10ft from the point where the ray hits.
3) Probably, with a high enough craft check. Not sure you can move them though, so probably should check first.
3a) Yes.

With the Disintegrate spell, does it have to roll for damage, or is it immediately 10feet cubes are gone?

Against objects, it is just gone. Unless it is a magic item. A magic item gets a save, and its bonus on saves (For all saves and all magic items) is 2+1/2 it's caster level. If it makes the fortitude save, disintegrate does 5d6 damage, which will not be able to bypass the 30 hardness of a wall of force. And the rabbit will be unaffected.

So the question then becomes: "Is a wall created by Aether Architect a magic item?"

And I don't know. Anyone else want to weigh in on this?

Aether Architect makes a wall with the same hardness and hit points as a wall of force. Disintegrate auto-wins vs walls of force, but this is technically a wall of Aether that just shares the same hardness and hit points as a wall of force.

I could see it going either way.
