Looking for setting info on the Veskarium

General Discussion

I've read the stuff in the CRB, APs, and AA books. I know it's a system with something like 8 planets. The first is named Vesk-Prime where the Vesk come from, and the rest are just numbered. I know that Skittermander are apparently from Vesk-3 and Vesk-6 has Catfolk on it. I remember that there were a couple other details in the CRB entry for it.

However, I'm wondering if there's been any (even non-official) lore I missed. We don't use any of the setting stuff from PF, but I know there was a book about the Pact Worlds system (Outer Worlds?) that contained lore about that system in pre-gap times. I'm wondering first, if there was any mention of the Veskarium in PF lore, and second if anyone's seen any further details (like in a blog post or answer to a question) from any official source.

Basically, since the Veskarium is the "nearest" other system and at least two playable races came from there, I'd like to have any lore I can available for my players when I start running my own campaign. I've done some googling and searched the boards, but I haven't found much beyond some homebrew and what I've already read.

I'm not 100% sure Vesk-Prime is actually the first planet, just that it's the only one that doesn't follow the Vesk-# naming because it was the Vesk homeworld.

As for more in-depth info, maybe the AP or a Scenario has something, but for the most part I suspect actual info will be coming in a future book, some time after Pact Worlds comes out.

I'm AFB but I thought that was in the entry for either the Vesk race or the Veskarium in the CRB. That they evolved/were created on the planet nearest their star (along with some 'snake people' and 'dog faced arthropods'). They named it Vesk when they conquered it, and Vesk-Prime when they started conquering the others.

Yeah, I'm expecting/hoping that they do the 2nd AP or setting book about Vesk Space, I was just hoping there was already information out there that I didn't have/hadn't seen.

On reviewing the Veskarium entry that is in fact correct. My own fault for not reading that in depth.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Vesk Prime is the closest to their sun. The CRB also mentions "stone-faced squidfolk of Vesk-2" and "Antlike beings of Vesk-5" as well as "pacifist frost behemoths" of Vesk-7 and Vesk-8.

I've made a team of Veskarium adventurers to be rivals to my players both on the infosphere and on missions and so I kinda punted on how this was represented. The Vesk captain and the Vesk soldier were easy, as was the skittermander solarian. I punted on the stone-faced squid and made an amphibious squid-merfolk that wouldn't show emotions (rather than one with a face of literal stone, which it could be), and then made a formian-like character for the antlike being, but without the group consciousness. Then I just made a catgirl envoy since the group is very active on the Absalom infosphere with videos on why the Veskarium is better than the pact worlds and would need an idol to host it.

As a GM I very much like my little crew of the "Manivesk Destiny". My players want to track them down and punch them in the face, which is how I want them to feel.

But I agree that I'm looking forward to more info on the Veskarium.

That's Genius.

For my own homebrew, I had been intending on Gripli (from SC) being from Vesk-Prime or Vesk-2 (maybe it's an ocean world with a large tropical archipalego where the gripli live). I had also intended on using the Catfolk and Tengu being on Vesk-6. But I'm really hoping not to step on my own feet when the book eventually comes out.
