Books with info on Lastwall

Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

Looking for any books with Lastwall information for a campaign I'm writing, any help would be appreciated.

I'm also trying to make an argument for Taldors ban on Sarenrae to apply to Lastwall, any opinions would be appreciated

The only one I can really think of is Cities of Golarion. There's a tiny bit in the Virlych section of Rule of Fear, but really not much at all. It really is a nearly-undeveloped region.

As for the Sarenrae ban, that's not even canon for Taldor anymore. So that's entirely up to you.

It makes even less sense for Lastwall though; they were more good-aligned, more diverse, much farther from Qadira, and - probably most importantly - were facing the greatest scourge of undeath Avistan (and arguably Golarion) had ever known, long before Iomedae's rise to godhood or even partial divinity. I suspect they would have eagerly welcomed the Sarenites into their ranks.

Castles of the Inner Sea has information on Castle Everstand of Lastwall, one of the few (perhaps only) forts produced from the Throne card of a deck of many things to be detailed in an rpg product.

As for the Sarenrae ban: my suggestion wouldn't be an complete ban, but a ban against the Cult of the Dawnflower makes sense. The defense of the country against an ever-present foe makes little room for dissension in the ranks. The Cult's aggressive stance in influencing policy and leadership could have undermined the stability of Lastwall to the extent that the Cult would be banned. This would bring all Sarenrites under suspicion by association, making life challenging for a Sarenrite without an outright ban being needed.

Wait, when did this happen?

Awesome, so I can make it a political thing with Lastwalls leadership and Taldor.

Thanks for the book suggestions, keep 'em coming.

In Taldor, the First Empire they state that while Stavian I did indeed put in a ban on the worship of Sarenrae, it didn't long survive his death. While people outside of Taldor remember these sort of incidents well, the aristocracy of Taldor has taken to having something of a "selective memory" in regards to potentially embarrassing incidents in modern life.

As a result, it is no longer in effect in Taldor (though many communities might still act suspiciously towards Sarenrites and try and make them feel unwelcome). But all that is simply ignored in the social circles of Taldor, and as such:

Taldor, the First Empire wrote:
While military defeats such as the Battle of Nagisa top the list of “forgotten” history, so too do illogical or impetuous royal edicts, including a period in which only nobles were permitted to wear beards and the short-lived outlawing of all worship of Sarenrae within the country; many modern Taldans scratch their heads when they hear of Sarenites viewing their nation with suspicion or skepticism.

Got bored so did some research. More info on Lastwall (it is spread out so!):

The Knight of Ozem prestige class is detailed in Paths of Prestige. A sample NPC Knight of Ozem can be found in the Inner Sea Codex.

An NPC Paladin of Castle Firrine named Modoru Redgrave is detailed in the NPC Guide. This book also includes the basic stat block for a Lastwall cavalry officer.

Berdred's Armory is a shop run by Berdred, an armor smith, in Vigil and is given a basic write up in Magical Marketplace.

Vigil itself is given an extensive write up in Cities of Golarion—as mentioned by Kalindlara above. :)

At least two artifacts of note are connected to Lastwall: The Shield of Aroden and the Thorncrown of Iomedae, detailed in Artifacts & Legends.

Inner Sea Combat has information on the Crusader War College, and some magic items appropriate for use in Lastwall.

Advanced Class Origins has a regional trait for Lastwall Defenders, and some other minor comments on placeing the Advanced Class Guide classes in Golarion, including Lastwall, but this would likely be of minor use to you.

The Knight of Arnisant cavalier archetype is commonly found in Lastwall and is detailed in Armor Master's Handbook.

Champions of Purity has a thematic feat tied directly to the Knights of Ozem and would be of use in fleshing out the more devout members of that group.

There is quite a bit on the Knights of Ozem and their place in Lastwall in Knights of the Inner Sea, including a small write up on a noble family of knights who have been members of the Knights of Ozem for generations. It even has their coat of arms!

Hope this helps! :)
