Question Regarding Thread Locking

Vic Wertz posted on this thread that "I'm leaving this thread locked until our community team is available to moderate as needed," on Oct 23rd.

It's been nearly a month, when is the community team going to be available to moderate? If you look at the Ultimate Wilderness thread it appears they're available now.

It's the weekend, they're unavailable to moderate it.

I believe that their moderation and customer service teams are also severely understaffed at the moment. On their Careers page they've had a Customer Service position open since September, and the job description includes assisting with forum moderation.

If I remember correctly there was mention of how that thread was going to be closed after an Open Letter from the CEO of Paizo was presented, but not deleted.

Open Letter from Paizo CEO Lisa Stevens

As a result, it would probably be frowned upon to try and stir that up again.

Side Tangent: Customer Service Position:

As far as the customer service job, I can't afford a cross-country relocation and I am lacking a college degree (despite 23 years on a job that demands Customer Service -- Retail).

There's no way I could qualify for the job as posted, so it'd be foolish for me to apply. It'd probably mean giving up GenCon and pretty much everyone I know outside of Paizo, too.

Have I been tempted?

Oh heck yeah.

Ahh, I see.

Spoiler:
I just want to mention that the qualifications say, "College degree or the equivalent in professional experience (2-4 years)". 23 years in retail would cover the 2-4 years of professional experience.

I was coming from 18 years of retail, and put in my resume on a whim thinking I would never hear back. The move was pretty expensive (but most of it can be claimed on taxes if it is a move for a job), and I do very much miss my family, and the friends I have back home. There are a lot of really neat folks here though, and the area is pretty great. I get homesick sometimes, but the folks I get to spend my time with here are worth it! Of course, I do want to point out for anyone interested that the cost of living here is very very high, so that is something to consider as well.

Per this post, the thread in question was to be left locked indefinitely.

I was tempted. Nobody should rule themselves out - if you think it'd be good for both you and Paizo you should go for it!

I apologize for not posting a follow up in that thread. Will do so now.

Indeed. I am about 2/3 of the way through my current pile of resumes and have seen some very promising ones.
