When an armor says, "If proficient in X armors, you may recharge this card when you reset your hand" and you recharge the card when resetting your hand, have you recharged it for its power? I think that you didn't recharge for a power because you are recharging it to reset your hand (and the card is just telling you that you can do that for the lower cost of recharge rather than discard), but our Oloch player isn't so sure because it's in the power box (and he sure would be happy if he could activate his upcoming role card power any time he cycles armor).

I believe there was an official quote specifically calling this out as NOT being a power, but you'll probably need to wait for Hawkmoon to swoop in with the relevant link.
Personally, I don't think I understand the reasoning behind that call, but there you are. In the same category of "instructions" (as opposed to "powers") are the Blessing texts of the "If the top card of the blessing discard pile..." variety, iirc.

Powers allow you to perform a specified action to cause an effect...
If a paragraph on a boon doesn’t require you to perform an action with that boon to cause an effect, that paragraph is not a power; do what it says at the appropriate time. For example, if a paragraph says “After you play this card, if you have the Divine skill, recharge it instead of discarding it,” and you have the Divine skill, you must recharge the card after you play it. If a card says “If proficient with light armors, you may recharge this card when you reset your hand,” and you are proficient with light armors, then when you reset your hand, you may recharge that card. When you are required to do something with the card as part of the effect (rather than to cause an effect), that does not count as playing it. So in either of the previous examples, recharging the card does not count as playing it.
It isn't a power, but on optional effect you could trigger. So, Gorum's Champion's power doesn't trigger.

Good, just as I thought again. Thanks Hawkmoon!
