Hey gang! I've been re-reading some Wheel of Time and enjoying it. I'm toying with the idea of putting together a game set shortly after the end of the books; you would be a group put together by the current rulers of the nations, to help cement alliance and uphold the Dragon's Peace in the new world to come after Tarmon Gai'don.
We would use Pathfinder; someone put together a ruleset for a Wheel of Time game and it's not awful. If people are interested I'll post the ruleset. I'd be looking for no more than 4 players.

I actually started working on some WoT flavor for Pathfinder, though I only got as far as WoT regional attribute adjustments for humans, since they're basically the only playable race in WoT. like Aiel: +2 dex, +2 wis, -2 cha and Cairhein +2 INT, +2 CHA, -2 CON. Looking at my notes though it doesn't look like I got much further than that. The 2nd one breaks the usual pathfinder plus one mental and plus one physical but I felt it worked thematically with the Great Game.

Gotta admit I love 'Wheel of Time,' would certainly be interested in playing. Possibly a Warder if someone wanted to play an Aes Sedai. Or a warrior from one of the four Borderland nations. Or an Aiel. So many good choices.
That depends on if we could play as something other than a stubborn, power mad, boy crazy, easily angered, petty squabbling Aes Sedai. Or would that be too much of a break From Jordan’s style to be thematically accurate?

There were definitely some of those as main characters, but Verin and Cadsuane... and so many others weren't that way at all. Seems like you could play it whatever way you like, within the oaths. :)

The ruleset can be downloaded here. Go ahead and take a look at it; we'll be mostly using it as written.
I'm about to include information that may provide spoilers for The Wheel of Time.
A couple of addendums to the ruleset that I'm not sure are explicitly stated in there (but we're going with cuz it's my game)-
Humans are still treated mechanically as baseline Humans from the CRB (bonus feat, bonus HP or skill point per level, +2 to stat of your choice), regardless of which background you select.
0-level Weaves function as cantrips.
We will be using Background Skills.
25 point buy.
If you have a surprise round, you may embrace the Source as a Standard Action rather than a full round action.
Any Asha'man or Aes Sedai are newly raised to that rank. We will be going through a "prologue" that will level you up a bit and cover some of the events of the last 3 books.
To those that aren't up to speed;
The Tower is split, and at war. Elaida usurped the Amyrlin Seat, and Egwene al'Vere, raised Amyrlin in exile by "rebel" Aes Sedai, has laid siege to Tar Valon. Lord Gareth Bryne, one of the Great Captains, leads the assault.
Rand al'Thor, the Dragon Reborn, has done what nobody every even considered a possibility, a thing that people once thought only the Creator could do; he has cleansed the taint from Saidin. Male channelers no longer need worry about the taint driving them mad.
Some in the Black Tower, where Asha'man are trained, have turned traitor, attempting to kill the Dragon Reborn. There are rumors of a schism in the Black Tower as well as the White.
If you wish to play an Aes Sedai or an Asha'man, you will be from the group loyal to Egwene or trained to be loyal to the Dragon Reborn.
Feat tax rules in effect. Link here.
To answer questions;
Critzible- the ruleset I'm looking at offers "base classes" that can then take archetypes (at level 1 most of the time). Blademaster is an archetype for Armsman.
Shadowtail- you rock whatever Aes Sedai you please, within the bounds I set up :)
Pauljathome- not much. I will provide a brief overview of major events, though much of that will be muddied and rumor. Your characters are just now stepping into the heroic spotlight, as it were, so you might not know the truth of many of these events. But you will find out more as the story progresses.

Ok, a few questions :-).
1) By background skills do you means the one in the Naruto D20 RPG pdf or the ones in Pathfinder Unchained?
2) So, the characters should all be ones that would be chosen by their nations to serve in an international role?
3) Are we strictly limited by the rules in the Naruto PDF? No problem at all if we are but I see some options in "normal" Pathfinder that would work thematically. Eg, Slayer class, maybe swashbucklers, etc.
4) I looked and looked but couldn't see what bonus spells a high stat gives you. Given that 0 level spells cost slots one can't necessarily just use the Pathfinder chart
I'm currently strongly leaning towards an Aiel Wisewoman.

1) Both.
2) They eventually will be chosen, by virtue of what they accomplish.
3) I'd prefer to stick to the PDF.
4) I'm going to houserule that 0-level weaves do not cost slots as long as you still have at least one slot of 1st level or higher open. Other than that, I think I'm going to rule that you gain bonus weaves as normal for spells per the chart in the core rules.

Hey gang;
I'm going to put this on tap for a while. I'm still going to run it (eventually) but there's some janky stuff in the PDF that I want to work on. These include more weaves and re-works of the Blademaster stuff (which I like in concept but so many different characters are Blademasters I don't feel like it should be it's own thing).
Then I have to write the campaign. It'll be a couple of months, most likely, but I *will* eventually run it.
