Liberty's Edge

I got a 404.

The only one I get a 404 is the release note link at the bottom seems a extra space slipped in there.

Silver Crusade

Can one print characters yet (either to pdf or just to paper)?

When I tried I got prompted for a template and when I chose 1 I got a really crappy, garbled character sheet

Silver Crusade

Pathfinder Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

In the previous versions I found printing to work, you just have to use one of the starfinder templates.

Silver Crusade

Doh. That worked :-).

I missed them the first time, found them the second :-)

Thanks

Hmmmm. Perhaps I'm missing something, but the Starfinder data is a .pcc file, and the the program seems to be looking for .pcz

Is there a more simple way yo load that data that I'm missing?

Figured it out - please disregard my last post.

I think I've found a bug - Armor from the inventory does not appear to go to the Armor blocks on the character sheet (at least for Second Skin)

Silly question, but have you actually equipped the armor? Next to the Purchase tab there is an 'Equipment' tab where you can equip the gear that you have purchased.

Silver Crusade

I've found that there are quite a few things that are inobvious for those of us unused to PCGen.

But so far I've been able to do everything I needed to do. Eventually :-). Its quite functional. Definitely better than a fillable pdf.

NOW I can say that it has beaten HeroLab out of the gate :-)

One bug. When I select "10 stat points" (the SFS assumption) it doesn't actually count the stat points. Pretty minor issue but ...

Do you not have the following options?

Selection
and
Points
Which if exceeded gives the following message.
Warning

Nope.

Note that I am using the standard build, it thinks that I have spent 0 points, and I'm well over the maximum.

That's strange! It's not something I can recreate. I assume that you are using the Starfinder dataset that comes with PCGen 6.07.04 and haven't installed the old standalone dataset?

I had the old beta standalone data sets on my machine. I then uninstalled the whole PCGen (using the normal windows process). I did NOT manually go and delete directories. Some older characters I created were still available.

I then installed the 6.07.04 referenced above.

I don't remember if this was a brand new character or if I started to upgrade a previously partly built character.

Hmm. Just tried a brand new character and it works as expected (points are spent, warning pops up).

So my best guess is that I'm modifying a character built with a previous beta version and something in that screws up a bit.

If that is true, definitely a bug NOT worth investigating or fixing :-) (yes, I write S/W. How can you tell? :-) )

I just installed the new version, and it works great. All the problems I reported seem to be fixed.

Sorry, #I should of asked that!. If it working then that is go to know.

That's great Redelia.

Those last posts of mine were made after a 'few' pints with some mates. It's a wonder they make any kind of sense as I don't even remember posting them.

Silver Crusade

Is this the best place to submit bug reports? Or, at least, an acceptable place?

Bug reports -

1) Levelling up an Envoy does not seem to work. Note - character created from scratch :-).

The skill points are right but it has the wrong number of improvisations (will only let me add one).

2) Will not let me select skills for skill expertise. Neither the base skill at level 1 NOR the skill selected for the expertise talent additional skill expertise

3) Envoy - only expertise talent it will allow me to pick at level 3 is additional skill expertise.

So far so good with this.

Thus far, all on my "bugs" have actually been an unfamiliarity with the interface.

Now off to try a starship...

Liberty's Edge

It irritates me how it does not add racial languages when you select a race. I have no consciously remember that my Half-Orc knows Orc when I look at it at a glance.

I'm just making changes to my "lst" files at the moment, and I would expect that Half-orcs speak Orc, But I couldn't find it in the SRD?!? perhaps it's in the rule book somewhere that Half-orcs get it as a bonus language? if I can be pointed towards that, I'll add it to my races.lst file, then publish it. (Somehow - if I can)

P.S.
I just love Kill'in

Are you talking about Pathfinder or Starfinder?
  • In Pathfinder it's one of the half-orc racial traits that "[h]alf-orcs begin play speaking Common and Orc." (Pathfinder Core Rulebook, p. 25, half-orc race entry)
  • In Starfinder, "A character begins play speaking and reading Common, her racial tongue (if any), and the language of her home planet (if any)." (Starfinder Core Rulebook, p. 40, "Languages" section of the Races chapter) It's not explicit whether or not half-orcs speak orc as a racial tongue, although the list of Other Languages on p. 41 may suggest they do.

I don't know where to find these things in the reference documents. (Is the Starfinder reference document up and active yet?)

Ok Iv'e edited the races file, does anyone know where I can upload it to?

You could either open a ticket in JIRA, or join the team and make a Pull Request in Github

Technically that isn't Paizo's SRD, but it's still good. :)

Hello, not sure if this thread is still being watched or not but can anyone tell me how to place an upgrade into an android body with pcgen?

Sorry, I've missed this are you using 6.07.04, .05, or .06?

It's not currently handled, we are waiting on a code change to handle it.

Pathfinder Lost Omens Subscriber

What is the current status of this project? Thank you very much for your time in advance.

Do you mean the android upgrade slot issue, or PCGen in general?

In general, version 6.07.08 was released on April 4. A lot of the changes are background changes. Some new sources were released since February in version 6.07.07 (and 6.07.06, too?).

Pathfinder Lost Omens Subscriber

Just in general, I typically use character creators on my PC.

Thank you very much for the update!
