A Bittersweet Update:
Erry went out for his second scenario when a Starfinder crew couldn't find a suitable pilot. In the exploration of an abandoned ship, something found Erry, and in one massive attack, bit his head clean off. Full damage crit - Erry was killed by the massive damage rules, and would have done so even if he'd been at full hit points! The party mechanic took Erry's briefcase turned toolkit as a memento, and the party solarian took Erry's small-sized tie to wear in honor of his fallen comrade. Given the sensitivity of the mission they were on, orders came down from on high to keep details of Erry's death quiet.
The news devastated the Farsight family, but none more so than his brother Dale. Already a little eccentric, even by halfling standards, Erry's death and the lack of details forthcoming about it pushed Dale over the edge. Convinced that there was more to his brother's death, Dale began to doggedly pursue any lead he could find about similar mysterious deaths - including conspiracy theories blaming everyone from the Knights of Golarian to the covert machinations of the Reptoid empire for the smallest of ills to befall Absalom Station.
He first suspected the Starfinders, thinking that Erry had stumbled across something the Society wanted covered up and had been killed as a result. When Historia-7 herself caught him hacking into the Lorespire Complexes files, she was impressed enough by Dale's abilities that she allowed the halfling to read the file surrounding Erry's death, and footage of Erry's final moments.
However, the one piece of the picture that the files didn't cover was the missing suitcase and tie. Given his brother's day job as an 'accountant' and the nature of his brother's killer, Dale suspects Erry's suitcase contains some vital secret that he was killed for, putting his brother's death at the center of a shadowy conspiracy spanning the planes.
So after Erry died in 1-04 on Friday, I ran 1-04 for another table of players on Sunday - so I think I am going to assign my GM chronicle to the GM race boon I got for running at CarnageCon 2017, and see if Erry's brother Dale has more luck as a Starfinder than Erry did.

Oh no! I'm sorry I never got to meet Erry in game. Starfinders risk their lives, it's a lesson we sometimes forget.
I love Dale's backstory though! That's a great way to turn a death into a character hook.
Update on Tech: He is currently waiting for an Incident at Absalom Station Chronicle so he can start at level 2 before getting his field commision with the Starfinders, I figured this would represent just a little better the mechanical competence and information he'd have from his back story. I should get that in the next day or so and then start looking for a pbp to sign him up for.
