I pre-ordered the Starfinder Core Rulebook, but after thinking about it I think it would be great to get the PDF for it as well, and so I am thinking about subscribing. If I were to do that, it seems like I need to post here in customer service in order to get my order updated so that I don’t accidentally get the book twice. Correct?
I’m not sure how the pre-order system works, but I would assume that the orders are filled starting with people who pre-ordered first to people who ordered last. Assuming that is correct, if I were to change my order from a normal pre-order to a subscription would that move me to the end of that line?

When you have a preorder and then start a subscription, the system is supposed to cancel your preorder and only send you one (subscription) copy. It worked correctly for me, but there are people for whom it has not and Customer Service has had to cancel the preorder copy.
Subscriptions and preorders are not fulfilled from first-placed to last-, but according to an algorithm of some kind that sorts orders together with others that contain the same items. It's quicker for the warehouse to pack, for example, all the Core Rulebook-only boxes, then the CRB + Dead Suns + flip mats, or whatever. Changing your preorder to a sub is unlikely to affect when your order ships out.
Note that shipments have already begun going out, so your time to change your mind is limited.

Customer Service: I just got the subscription, since it’s late I am assuming customer service won’t see this until tomorrow morning. If you could please make sure the pre-order gets cancelled and I just have the subscription, that would be awesome! : )
