I've been scratching my head, how is the Custom clone spell used by vexaris different from the one in the CRB? As far as I'm aware the one in the CRB would still let him carrying his memories over every iteration meaning he wouldn't have to relearn knowledge? Is this just a legacy from earlier editions that got ported into the anniversary edition?
It's a flaw in that NPCs version of clone.
Note: the official version of clone "restores" the character to the age and physical condition of when the sample was taken. And "If the original creature has reached the end of its natural life span (that is, it has died of natural causes), any cloning attempt fails." The goal of the NPC is to circumvent these limitations.
