Low level blues?

Advice

So playing this character in PFS and on paper he seems like a beast...but in play he has been kinda meh. Perhaps it has been the adventures or unlucky rolls. Perhaps it is just that he is level 2. So here is the build:
half-orc bloodrager 1/skald 1
Init +5
AC 17 hp 19 Fort +8, Ref +3, Will +3

Speed 30 ft. in armor
Melee mwk falchion +5 (2d4+4/18-20)
Special Attacks angelic attacks, bloodrage (6 rounds/day), raging song 11 rounds/day
Spells Known:
1st (2/day)—cure light wounds, saving finale
0 (at will)—dancing lights, detect magic, ghost sound, read magic
Stats:
Str 17, Dex 12, Con 14, Int 12, Wis 9, Cha 14

Feats: Alertness, Amplified Rage, Endurance, Extra Performance
Traits: community-minded, fate's favored

Skills: Climb +7, Knowledge (arcana) +6, Knowledge (dungeoneering) +2, Knowledge (engineering) +2, Knowledge (geography) +2, Knowledge (history) +6, Knowledge (local) +2, Knowledge (nature) +2, Knowledge (nobility) +2, Knowledge (planes) +2, Knowledge (religion) +6, Perception +6, Perform (oratory) +7, Sense Motive +1, Spellcraft +6, Survival -1, Swim +4, Use Magic Device +7
Languages Common, Draconic, Orc

Gear: wand of cure light wounds, wand of heightened awareness; Other Gear mwk agile breastplate, mwk falchion, ioun torch ioun stone, wayfinder, backpack, bedroll, belt pouch, flint and steel, hemp rope (50 ft.), lyre, mess kit, mirror, pot, soap, spell component pouch, torch (10), trail rations (5), waterskin

In practice...first round perform and then my falchion is +9 (2d4+10/18-20) At level 3 I planned to take either power attack or Skald's vigor..I would become the face with diplomacy and sense motive based off of the Perform..at level 4 I would go with Spirit Totem lesser.

Your character is essentally a 2nd-level skald who personally gains +4 to Con and Str from Raging Song instead of +2. That is a slight advantage and fast movement is another slight advantage, in exchange for losing one level of skald spell progression. I don't see how that is supposed to be "a beast".

Perhaps you were counting on the Amplified Rage teamwork feat? That can be strong, but it requires a teammate with Amplified Rage, too. You said this was for PFS, so teamates are difficult to predict. Power Attack would be more useful if you seldom have an Amplifed Rage partner.

What bloodline did you select?

Celestial and I took a valet familiar. Went with a scorpion who stays on my person, so guaranteed amplified

Shouldn't you have lost your first level bloodline power? You still have angelic attacks listed in your statblock.

the standard to start perform is part of your blues, I felt the same way often on my bard, and he wasn't meant to be nearly as damaging as your guy

i have seen arguments that the Amplified Rage and Valet Familiar combination does not work, because the familiar is not a half orc, but ekibus did ask in the Rules Forum, so let's assume it works.

Gaining +8 to Str and Con instead of +4 gives an extra +2 to hit and an extra +3 to damage with a two-handed weapon. That is a strong bonus, better than a typical first-level bloodline power and Power Attack together. With Extra Performance providing six additional rounds of Raging Song, it should last through three or four encounters.

But we are talking about a 2nd-level character here. A 2nd-level barbarian should be able to fell a foe in two rounds. ekibus's Ampliifed Rager takes one round to start the Inspired Rage and then can kill an opponent in one round. That is still two rounds. It is only against boss-level opponents that the Amplified Rager would shine.

I think you simply need to learn ways to make the best uses of your character's strengths in ordinary battles. Perhaps the bloodrage rounds would be better for quick encounters than starting a ragesong. Perhaps you need a few other abilities to round out the character. Skald's Vigor would reduce the healing the character needs, but won't make him kill opponents faster.

Hmm that is possible Mathmuse. especially at lower levels...sadly you never know when there will be a tough fight. Yeah been doing a bunch of research on this character, pc died and got a new one, need to go get my item list again. If nothing else I've been lucky in that there is a couple people at the table that takes the rage (so far) So in that regard he has been helping the party he was in. Really want to get his knowledge up too...I feel like when he gets his traction he will be pretty nice
