Advice / Rules question for Teleportation Circle.

Advice

First some background: The PC's are in an old stronghold that was once home to a major power in the world. The stronghold was created roughly 2500 years ago in a Pangaea like world. Since then the gods have went to war and the world was broken, continents shifted like earth of today. In the stronghold there is a teleportation circle with 5 obelisk which casts greater teleport to predetermined locations.

My question is since greater teleport needs you to have a reliable description, would the teleport still work since the information in the obelisk is no longer true and would be like misleading information?

If it doesn't work is there a way for PC's to possibly go to the locations of the other teleportation circles and change sigils to correct the location?

I can't really speak for the rules side of things here, but the easy option would be to GM fiat it to work whichever way you prefer.

If you want them to have to re-align the phase disruptors and get some adventuring out of that, run it that way - if you want it all to just go smoothly for them and get straight to where they need to go, that works too.

Just reading Teleportation Circle it does seem as though they would still work properly. It specifically states that you set the location to teleport to and that the set location never changes. The only time it ever mentions needing a description is when setting the location to teleport to. I do see the argument for RAW being that those using the teleportation circle need an accurate description due to the "as Greater Teleport". My RAI interpretation though is that it basically creates a set portal that leads from X to Y forevermore until dispel magic does it part.

If they do need a description the builders would probably deliberately choose locations with large, immobile, unchanging land markers like the pyramids or a famous statue. Then they would probably leave at least a pictorial description inscribed in stone/metal next to the Teleportation Circle. After all they are blowing a ton of money for a consistent teleportation. They want it to be able to work for as long as possible

Thanks for the replies, my worries for it was I imagine when teleport circles are set up they are designed for natural tectonic movement, but the gods war was an unnatural aspect that couldn't have been foreseen at the time and some of the circles have moved by thousands of miles.
