Can a character with the nauseated condition threaten squares and provide a flanking bonus to an ally?

Considering they cannot: attack, cast or concentrate on spell, do anything that requires concentration AND are limited to a single move action...it looks like a no,they can't threaten as that would require concentration.

Page 197 CRB:
Flanking
When making a melee attack, you get a +2 flanking bonus if your opponent is threatened by another enemy character or creature on its opposite border or opposite corner.

Threatened Squares: You threaten all squares into which you can make a melee attack

A nauseated character cannot make a melee attack and therefore does not threaten. Because the nauseated character does not threaten, the nauseated character cannot provide flanking.

Threaten makes no mention of requiring the ability to concentrate. From that perspective, being nauseated does not prevent threatening.

Being unable to take a standard action means you cannot attack. From that perspective, being nauseated does prevent threatening.

You cannot attack period, it has nothing to do with your action economy. Even if you had the ability to attack with a move action you would still be incapable of attacking.

So wait........ I can have my invisible friend on the other side of you doing nothing to hinder you at all and get a +2 from flanking even though you have no reason to divert your attention from me, but a real person there who may or may not be ready to vomit on me is no distraction at all?

Crazy, isn't it?

That is, obviously, because your invisible friend is whispering nonstop 'omelette du fromage' to the enemy.

I'll accept that
