Flurry of Blows while holding a item? Still doable?

Rules Questions

Lets say I'm holding a Wand in one of my hands, I can still Flurry of Blows without penalty right? I mean I'm not attacking with the wand, I'm simply holding it in one hand, I ask because I was still under the impression that FoB isn't necessarily always hands but could be any plausible limb, like Kicks, Hands, Knees, Headbutt or was that simply fluff text and it needs both hands to be empty?

If both hands needed to be empty it would say both hands needed to be empty.

You can flurry with both hands full I believe.

You can head but, elbow, and kick no problem sir.

You can flurry with a closed fist, elbows, kicks, knees, headbutts. You can be holding a weapon in your hand and still flurry of blows with your unarmed strikes.

Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee could flurry while juggling a vase. If they can do that IRL, a monk in a tabletop RPG can flurry while holding a stick.

You still have knees and feet and elbows and if need be your head. In addition to that you can strike multiple times with the unoccupied hand

Unarmed Strike: At 1st level, a monk gains Improved Unarmed Strike as a bonus feat. A monk's attacks may be with fist, elbows, knees, and feet. This means that a monk may make unarmed strikes with his hands full. There is no such thing as an off-hand attack for a monk striking unarmed. A monk may thus apply his full Strength bonus on damage rolls for all his unarmed strikes.

This is not fluff text. The bolded comment specifically calls out that a monk may make an unarmed strike with hands full. I had a monk in my campaign that always carried a guisarme (later a staff) and when it was advantageous he would attack with that and when not he would use his flurry.

It may not be fluff, but just to be clear, it is also redundant. Any creature, not just monks, may make unarmed strikes with their hands full.

The point is that for the monk, any striking surface of the body counts as the monk's unarmed strike and benefits from improved unarmed strike and all other monk abilities.
