Individual events for individual home games?

Have been running several home games now for the past 2 years and I'm reporting each and every one. Now I'm making a new event for each home game. Today I realized for the first time that you can include several scenario's at one event. Am I supposed to add different scenarios to the same "Home Game" event or is it oke to make seperate events for each home game?

Just wondering if I'm polluting the DB to much :D

2 people marked this as a favorite.

You can do whatever you want there. I prefer to have one event number for all my home games because I like to look them up in one place. But if you like shiny individual numbers, go ahead.

Hmm

I use to do the same. But now it is so much more convenient to have one per store, my online stuff, and one for my home game. I just have to go in and edit when I complete a new game.

Hilary is correct, of course having just one number reduces the chance that things go wrong, and makes it easier to check certain things.

One per meaningful group is most convenient (i.e. local game store, steady home group, all your demo quest events). Easiest to keep track.

Lets try that as of my 30th game :D

Ps. When I input a date like 03/31/17 it will change it to 03/30/17 (deducting 1 from the day) when saving. And every time I save it to a new date it will be deducting 1 from all the dates. Where can I report this?

Website feedback would probably be the best place to post that.

Also, I agree with the others, I try to keep one event per location. For our home games we had been doing what you were doing. After a year or so we went back and realized we had the honor of having a game be 5000 so we've been using that for ours since.

I use a single event and report all the sessions to it.

A word of warning though: once you add a scenario to the event, and report a session to it, don't remove that scenario from the event to "clean up" the event list - it will jack up the reporting.

Yeah, I was doing that, taking the scenarios off as they were played. When I went back and replaced the scenarios and edited the sessions, my table count went from 106 to 178.
