Did I screw this character up?

Advice

Silver Crusade

This was my first PFS character, and was an attempt at making a ranged character. The general idea behind him is this (at lvl4):

Turn 1: Cast divine favor and use studied target
Turn 2: Move to hopefully get a clear line of sight. Shoot. (Usually +12 to hit, doing 1d8+7 damage)

I realize now that I messed up in not giving him fate's favored (thus losing out on +1 hit and +1 damage). He also doesn't have deadeye bowman (wrong god, and didn't know about the feat), which would have been really useful for an archer character.

I also realize now that I messed up his racials. In PFS, hatred against orcs is pretty much useless, as is defensive training. That could have easily been traded for stoic negotiator, giving him +2 diplomacy and +2 bluff, which would have been much more useful.

As is...is there anything I can do with my prestige to fix these mistakes?

And if not, how good is this character as an archer so I can decide whether he is worth continuing?

Also, if he is worth continuing, what would be an effective character progression for him?

Well, it sounds like you're a sanctified slayer inquisitor.
And from the sounds of it, your character isn't screwed or messed up, just slightly non-optimal. Archery inquisitors get some of the highest DPR possible, and that was without using fate's favored. So just stick with inquisitor.

If you're not an inquisitor list your current classes and level.

traits can't be changed. Your racial options can be retrained if you own ultimate campaign, though it's a lot of PP.

Silver Crusade

Aye, a sanctified slayer inquisitor. I do own ultimate campaign, so I'll look into how much PP it is to retrain racial options. Too bad about not being able to retrain traits...

And thank you.

There's always the feat, extra traits. if you weren't so hard pressed for feats already it'd probably be worth looking at.

Silver Crusade

Aye. I'm really tempted to take it at lvl 5.

Deadeye Bowman + Fate's Favored.

Would let him fire through one friendly without penalty and get an extra +1 hit/+1 dmg.

But that competes with rapid shot, which is an extra +1 attack.

So...when firing through a friendly it becomes a choice of which one is better:

+12 hit, 1d4+8 damage
or
+7 hit/+7 hit, 1d4+7 damage...

Dark Archive

Given that you can Bane your bow, Rapid Shot is far and away the winner.

Don't worry about Deadeye Bowman. Just get Friendly Fire Maneuvers as a teamwork feat. I agree with Suthainn about Rapid Shot.

Typo or are you throwing daggers or something?

Silver Crusade

Aye, typo. Should be 1d8 damage. Thanks.

And damn, friendly fire maneuvers is perfect! I think that I'll retrain to grab that. It looks much better than coordinated shot. Completely takes away the mistake of not getting deadeye bowman, and it works because of solo tactics. Thank you!

Then at lvl5 grab rapid shot and he'll only be slightly under optimized.

Just remember that retraining it is probably as easy as using a standard action.

"As a standard action, the inquisitor can choose to learn a new bonus teamwork feat in place of the most recent bonus teamwork feat she has already learned."

Silver Crusade

Thank you, you just saved me some PP.

I thought that as an inquisitor if you take a betrayal feat the feat can only be used by an ally to you and not the other way around.

Friendly Fire Maneuvers is not a betrayal feat.

oh, oops. I confused it with the friendly fire betrayal feat.
